Good design, works well
I have bought two "Unilux 100340557 Floor Lamps" from Amazon (now no longer available) and in each the dimmer switch has failed. This item is an excellent replacement. It seems more robust and better designed. It is quite expensive though, compared to the cost of the original lamp.

Seems slightly more delicate then I would have liked but worth the money
The unit supplied had a slightly different wiring system from that shown on the web but a quick glance at the Q&A there enabled me to sort it out. Now fixed and working OK. Seems slightly more delicate then I would have liked but worth the money.

Failed
The switch looked perfect for my needs but did not work. Clearly a manufacturing fault. Amazon refunded me the cost and I returned the switch to Amazon. I cannot blame the supplier or Amazon for what was clearly not their fault.

OK quality and good to get the functionality provided by this switch except I inadvertently tried running one (I did buy 2) with a higher wattage than suggested. It did burn out quite impressively melting a nice shape into our new carpet. Hey-ho

Good equipment with easy installation
Replacing an original dimmer with this avoided having to find a replacement for one of a matching pair of standard lamps. It was easy to wire in, even though the instructions were not very clear. Follow your instincts and the original equipment! It works well and having an on/off switch separate from the rheostat should reduce wear and make this a long-lasting repair. Recommended.
