One blown motherboard!
Firstly, as per other reviews, this PSU does not come with the advertised connectors. e.g. It states that it comes with 2x 6+2 pin PCI-e connectors, comes with 2x 6 pin PCI-e connectors. Now this was not going to cause me a problem as they are surplus to my requirements.Secondly, the on/off switch does not work, being in a continual state of on (better than off :-) ) Can live with that I thought. So thirdly, I plug it in for real. Wisps of smoke pop from the MOSFETs!The warning was on the door after the first two stages I guess. But ever the optimist me.Result - One blown motherboard!I will be taking this up with the manufacturer and will post back accordingly. But as they say, don't hold your breath!

but it does feel like a good quality unit for the price
Not as described by the seller,, it only has 2 six pin pcie connections and not 6+2,for the 8pin as it says it is, it says on the box as well that it's 6+2pcie connection, so I would put it down to a manufacturing fault, so I've marked it down for that reason, but it does feel like a good quality unit for the price,

cables missing that states it should have
was not as advertised, states that it comes with 2x 6+2 pin PCI-e connectors, comes with 2x 6 pin PCI-e connectors, also states that it should come with a power adapter cable and doesn't have that included either. dont buy this product if your looking to use it with a newer graphics card, since it doesn't come with what it states on the box

pumps out 665w wich ime told is unussuall as i was told to get one with at least 20 percent more output than needed to allow for manufacturers lets say exajurated outputs but that wasnt the case so very pleased the leads are also very well made and of suitable thickness very pleased

Buyer beware.
Not as described, does not have any 8 pin pci-e connectors, even the supplied manual shows them but they aren't physically there!

Failed!!!!
Had never heard of this company before, but I am glad I purchased this. 4 months in an going strong. $39 shipped is hard to beat for an 80 plus bronze 650w psu. cables are long with nice mesh sleeves and have plenty of adaptors for 3/4 pin. powers my rig with an ati 7850/phenom ii X4 965 no problems. fan is silent.**EDIT**Now about 9-10 months in. PSU just failed. Went pop, and its dead. Had to return to my trusty Antec Earthwatts (4 years and still going). In the process of an RMA now. Will see how this works out...

No Problems Whatsoever.
This PSU was put into my computer in January 2013 and has been working perfectly ever since.CPU-3570KGPU-GTX 650 TIRAM-8GBHDD-1TBSSD-128GBIt handles everything flawlessly and when I upgrade to the GTX 760 it will still be well under the load limit. I can overclock as well without stressing the unit. It's been going daily since it was installed and is still going strong and extremely quiet. I don't think I've ever head the PSU fan over ambient sounds and the case fans.Highly recommend this product, especially if you can get it at a reduced price.

Awesome capable PSU
Got my PSU, within 7 months it started shutting down unexpectedly, wrote to Solid Gear and within 15 days with no hassles or questions asked it was replaced with a brand new unit, I suspect Florida Power and Light plus crazy weather even though I have it protected were the culprit. Awesome support service and a great PSU too!

Seems like a decent product... surprisingly heavy!
I have not yet used this as i bought as a backup. NOthing worse than when a power supply goes out and then you're stuck. So this is a backup PS. I got it based on wattage and price. When it arrived, i was very surprised with how heavy this thing was! TO me, that's a good thing, the heavier the better! It is factory sealed. I'm considering opening it up and trying it out. I know it's current at 82% efficiency... so i know it will handle any board in any of the pc's that i have. For now, i give it 4 stars based on spec's, price, weight, etc. I will up this to 5 once i can install it and run it for a year to make sure it holds up.

80 PLUS Power and Savings
Great power supply. It's actually 80 PLUS, not a fake claim like some others. Extremely long cable length, more than enough for the largest full tower cases. I would usually expect to pay $80-90 for this amount of quality, but I got it on sale for $40. The fan is dead silent, unit doesn't put out much heat even under heavy load. Build quality is excellent. For $40 this is the best power supply on the market, period. Some big names will run you much more money. My only regret is not buying a few more while they were on sale. I couldn't be happier with the price and quality of this 80 PLUS PSU.

DOA = meaningless
Although it has nice package, cool cable mesh sleeves, and very good price. DOA = wasting time and $$.Need to return to Amazon and cost me $5.00! Change to thermaltake instead!
