Cook & warm
Up to now we've only used this once to try it out, it's off on a longer trip soon.Quite happy with the ease of lighting, need to have a stock of wood ready to re-fill.The legs seem a bit flimsy but they are ready for all sorts of ground. We have seen another stove with a large flat 'plate' on top and can see the advantage of one to give a much larger pan-sitting area - with an area away from the hotter spots. The lip is essential to keep sparks and ash falling out unexpectedly.Packs away neatly.

What a little beauty!
We tested this out last weekend in our ex-army bell tent, and it managed to keep us warm, and happy despite the unexpected snow. To help blow the warm air around we put a little Stirling engine powered fan on the stove top, which helped distribute the warmth.Lighting the stove was simple, but can be a little bit smoky, as the door needs to be open for a few mins until the stove begins to draw well. However, starting the fire towards the back of the firebox may solve this problem. You need to keep an eye on the fire to keep the heat up, a cheap magnetic themometer on the stovepipe proved very useful for this purpose. With the door on the latch the stove ticks along perfectly. We managed to knock up a full english breakfast for 4 on the stove the following morning, and plenty of tea. Interestingly, removing the circular plate in the stove top did not seem to make the pan any hotter, and in fact the hottest spot seemed to be towards the stovepipe. I think I'll be treating myself to the water tank option soon as well.Over a 12ish hour period we got through around 10kg of dried wood, and the stovepipe remained fairly clear of soot. Once cool, dragging a cloth through the chimney sections with some string, and wiping all the bits with an oiled cloth was all that was needed to get it ready for its next trip.

Excellent quality
The moment I opened the box the quality of this stove was overwhelming. The finish is a fantastic matt steel, I don't know if it is powder coated but it feels that good, looks beautiful. As soon as I started assembling it, which is easy and takes 3 minutes, the build quality was obvious as every moving part neatly fitted into place.Ingenious design: light, easy to carry, chimney is just over 6 foot tall from the ground which keeps the smoke out of your eyes and lungs, and yet it is very stable. Easy to light, easy to feed and control the burn using the door and chimney baffle.I bought mine mostly as a fun patio heater and it works for this even though it wasn't designed for this purpose. With the lid off and door open you see enough of the fire to make watching it hypnotic, and it puts out enough heat to warm your hands, although not a whole patio, unsurprisingly. All in all I love it, it was well worth the money, and it would clearly be excellent for use in a tent or shed or anywhere else you wanted some heat and to boil a kettle. I recommend it 100%.

Way over priced for what you get
The perfomance of the stove would be greatly improved by a few simple changes. Such as a regulated air vent in the door, a baffle and a grate to alow air under the fule. Allso the top of the stove does not have a full air tight seal all the way a round. If it had these it would just about be value for money. as its stands it is very over priced for what you get which is ultimately an incomplete stove that deeds modifying to get the best out of it.

best birthday present ever
Bought my partner this for his birthday, and it's been brilliant. We've just been camping in the Peak District where it was VERY WET INDEED, but we were able to keep warm and dry inside our tent, thanks to the dry heat of the Frontier Stove. During the properly torrential rain, I watched anxiously as little drops of water kept threatening to drop off the fly sheet. I was delighted to see that they all evaporated before that 'raining inside' experience kicked in.The stove is easy to light, and stays in well, and it's particularly pleasing that everything packs up inside for tansportation. For cooking, we found that bags of softwood kindling got things heated up quickly, especially when lit with a firelighter. It really helps to have one of those lighters with the long nozzle for doing this. The stove also handles compressed sawdust 'heatlogs', and small proper logs, and we soon got the hang of setting the damper in the right place for the type of fuel.Usually, especially when camping, one of our favourite pastimes is identifying all the design faults on whatever happens to be to hand. Although we're both very gifted at this sort of carping, we couldn't find anything to criticise on this stove.

I love it like a brother!
This is the best product I have ever purchased. I do a lot of wild camping in Ireland and during the winter months I used to cease camping for long periods in the colder weather because of hypothermia risks etc. A friend of mine was given one of these for Christmas a couple of years ago and it instantly changed our outlook on winter camping. I had to buy one and now I use it every time the weathers bad. It's a great addition to a teepee tarp shelter and its great for cooking on. Load it up before bed and it'll burn for a few hours and keep you warm during the night and if loaded properly you'll be able to restart it from embers in the morning. One thing I would say is, if you buy one, oil it every time you use it to stop the paint from burning away, do this religiously and it'll delay the rusting.

Design not good and hard to get a fire
This product design is not good such as noway to clear ash out, and the heat area is rear which near the chimney, but only got one heating area which can place your pot where directly touch the fire. anyway, this is a portable stove, easy to take.
