Liquid Lanolin, 4 Ounce

I get really sore lips that crack and split all the time, normal lip salves seem to do either nothing or worsen their condition. Lanolin seems to work!I've used it a bit in my hair and it has made it much softer, although I'm careful to not use too much and look like I've dived head first into a deep fat fryer (I put a little on my hands and rub them together to get the lanolin to warm up and spread better before gentle running my fingers through my hair.One thing to note: it does smell like fresh wool (which is no suprise considering where it comes from!). I personally don't find it to be an unpleasant smell and I don't think it lingered too long (although I could have just become accustomed to it).

It's the first time I've used lanolin oil for the skin, and it is very viscous - think very thick treacle, that being said it does eventually sink in somewhat. It's an unusual product. It doesn't sink in completely like lotion, and it doesn't stay completely on top of your skin like oil, it's somewhere in-between. To start off I recommend trying a drop neat on your skin to get an idea how to use it, and maybe then mix with lotion to help spread it and sink in better (if that's what you want), otherwise you'll have a tough time applying it (but it can be done). I've used it neat all over my face as a mask and it didn't cause any pore blockage or spots. It does have a bit of a strange scent, almost like rubber, it doesn't really bother me and it's not super strong - but if you prefer perfumed and highly manufactured products then you may not like it. I'd buy it again when (if) I run out.

I mix a little with my usual body lotion, this is the only thing that really works on my very dry skin after trying so many other options.

I bought it because my neck is going crepy and it is very moisturising although a bit thick but sadly it didn't help with my wrinkles, think I'm just too old. Very good for extremely dry skin though!

Mum born in 1906 used lanolin all the time. Bought this for husband's very dry skin especially feet. Both used it last night with cotton socks. Skin is definitely improved. Will be trying on legs and hands today. Very pleased so far.

I bought this as an alternative to emu oil as Amazon never seem to have it in stock anymore. It took quite a while for the order to arrive. It says it is supposed to soak into the skin easily. This is untrue. It has the consistency of vaseline mixed with thick candle wax and is so thick that it is actually quite difficult to rub it at all. It's like trying to rub cold treacle onto your skin. The worst aspect of it, though, is the smell. It smells exactly like a farmyard. Like manure and old, gone off sliced meat. It is both repulsive and unusuable and I cannot stress enough my disgust and disappointment with this product. I don't think I've ever written a review before, but felt I had to this time as a warning to others to not waste their money.
