Gem Quest: 4 Elements - Nintendo DS

I was so happy i found this on DS. I have this game on PS3, and saw that it was available on DS, however could not find a copy anywhere. Thanks for Amazon, i got this great, fun, and challenging game for my DS for a great price. Came brand new, and shipping was quick.

How can matching 3 or more little gems be so maddening yet fun? Gem Quest is just the game for novices to gaming like me, I'm a 57 yr old grandmother new to these games. I found it very easy to learn, yet challenging strategically and addictive.

I love match-three games and have played most of them. This is my latest purchase. I have to confess that, at first, 4 Elements seemed strange because it has a twist: by matching jewels, you clear a path for the magic fluid to flow to the finish line. Took me a few levels to get the hang of that. But now I am totally addicted to this game which combines speed, matching, and logic to figure out the solution to some of the puzzles. As is the case with most of these games, the storyline is pretty lame but easily ignored. The finding of hidden objects also adds nothing to the game so you can fast-forward through those and get back to the real fun. And the music isn't too obnoxious, although the camera angle goes crazy once in a while. But overall it's a kick and has replay value in my opinion. Good entertainment for the price.

Fun but too much action and too hard for me to play at age 69. I love all match 3 games but this one is too hard. I got stuck 3 times, started over again, got stuck in the same level. Maybe my grandson will play it for me.

I thought it was a gem swapping game but it wasn't what I expected. Played it a few times and didn't really like it.

I'm probably one of the few "little old ladies" to have an Nintendo DS, but I truly like puzzle games and this one is especially enjoyable. I'd played 4 Elements as an online free version for quite awhile (see, it is a good way to promote software) and was glad to see it put out as a DS game. I haven't gotten through all four books yet and wonder what comes next, but the game is captivating, the added search at the end of each "book" and the decoding is a fun reward and the music is pleasant rather than jarring. If my thumbs weren't busy linking gems, I'd give this one a thumbs up.

I bought this game for my son who loves puzzles and games that involve your brain. He started playing it yesterday and really loves it. I started watching over his shoulder and became quite intrigued. Each level gets a little more challenging as you progress. I hate games that you conquer too quickly. My son set it up for me to try, and I played it until his battery died and then we plugged it in and I still continued playing it. I Love It! I have found a new game for me as well to love. My son and I are now sharing the fun. It keeps track of your level under your own name so you don't have to start at the beginning each time. Can't say enough great things about this game and will continue to purchase games like this. I would recommend this game for all ages, including adults. Great job Nintendo!

Great game! Very addicting! My husband has it for his iPad... probably better as screen bigger, but I find it challenging on a smaller screen. Hours of fun! Normally I play the jewel master games, but this is a nice change.. similar concept but different ways to complete.
