How you are mounting makes a difference
Two of the socket porcelain liners were broken, possibly due to the delivery person (Prime, I think) tossing them on to the porch. Now I am short two, and can't finish the job. Otherwise the sockets were nice.

This lampholder (socket) is non-switched. It screw-mounts onto allthread tubing.
30 Dec 2018My critique:This non-switching, 1/8-inch-threadtube-attached lampholder, uses lamps with bases known as Edison-base, medium-base and E27-base. As if there aren't a sufficient amount of lamp types adding to the confusion! This tri-nom lamp base is the most common among the myriad of lamp types therefor a practical type choice allowing versatility of lamp-use selection. I highly commend the LED lamps which nowadays are cheap, and the dimmable feature becoming a no-extra-cost standard.There is no switch on this lampholder. Therefore it should be switched from the luminaire i.e. table lamp; floor lamp etc. or from a wall switch. This lampholder is benefic for pendant fixture use. For the pendant-cord, there is a plastic strain relief included which attaches to the standard 1/8-inch allthread tubing.The threads to which the removable brass ring attaches (first photo), is of larger diameter than the common lampshade thread size type (second photo). Maybe this lampholder's thread-size fits larger shades or globes.Inside the ceramic lampholder, there are 2 electrical contact screws, one for the aluminum screw thread, and the other for the brass, center contact tab. I found both screws loose.Overall, this China-made unit is okay! I would rate it 5-star if the lamp-screw threads were made of brass, not aluminum. Often, especially in humid environments, the aluminum threads corrode with aluminum threads of the base of lamps, causing the frequent problem of a broken-off lamp base stuck in the lampholder upon attempted re-lamping (lamp replacement).Prevention for this problem is to brush on a liberal amount of lithium, or other, grease onto the base of a lamp, then screwing in the lamp. The grease will remain in the lampholder for several re-lampings.
