Give them a shot. You never know.
Im somewhat reluctant to buy "so called Sable hair brushes" because they most often are not good quality. These brushes, so far, have been as nice to use as my expensive sable brushes. They have a nice spring, hold plenty of water and paint and feel like the exspensive ones. The only issue, and it happens with cheaper brushes, loose hair when painting. That causes me problems i dont have to deal with normally. I would normally wash them well in a brush soap to loosen those hairs before use. I didnt. Wash them well and you should be good to go. Take time to clean them after use, keep the paint from drying on the brush and they should last. Ive been using them regularly and they still hold a nice point.

Not worth the cost.
These are ok brushes. This brush was used twice and it started to fray. The smaller ones still have a nice point. When I paint with them they leave a heavy pigment load as I lift the brush off the page. I would not recommend these as a good round since they don’t keep their points. I will use this as a wash brush.

Consider these “before” buying Winsor & Newton!!
I have come to rely on these brushes more so than my Winsor/Newton brushes. For me, they seem to hold a finer tip and work just as good as a brush costing 10 times more. I am thoroughly impressed by the quality of these brushes. My plans are to buy an extra set to use when I’m out of my studio. So far I find these brushes exceptional… I’ve found the secret to maintaining the tip after use to keep it pointed and it works!!! Sorry Winsor/Newton

Wonderful Sable brushes
Love my new AIT Sable brushes. They are wonderful quality and terrific to paint with. I just finished a watercolour painting last night and it was great using a pure Sable brush. They are an excellent bargain, as you would pay the same price for one brush, as I did for the set. If you are an artist new or old, I recommend you give these AIT brushes a try.

Very disappointed in the quality of these brushes.
I was full of expectation and when I received these brushes the appearance was good but when I actually used the #6 on a watercolor project it was so disappointing. The tip did not hold firm and in fact it kept splitting into two horns or tips and the side hairs stuck out dry when using it. Very disappointment as I have a red sable #6 brush that is very old and it still holds water and maintains it's shart point when doing details. I will be returning this set as I have not even tried the other 3 brushes but they do not meet my expectations.

Not for me
I had high hopes for these but unfortunately they didn't live up to expectations. I will admit I'm a novice watercolorist but we like what we like, and i don't like these brushes. For one, once you wet them, they lose all shape and become something of a mop. Maybe that's true for all sable brushes, I don't know, but if so, I'll stick to my synthetics.Okay, that's all I've go to say.

Fair bristle quality. Great packaging, fast shipping.
I like the the handlle, and ferrule, overall feel. What I don't like is that the brushes are too "bendy." Not exactly sure how to put it. Too limber. The large number 8 is very good. The other three, do not have any spring to them. Not what I would expect from sable brushes. They are relatively inexpensive so buying them was a gamble. I'm using them for watercolor painting.

Hold a nice point
These are wonderful brushes...especially for the price! They hold a very nice point...really glide across the paper nicely ...I am using them to paint small watercolors.
