Perfect.
Excellent product, used only once so far. Exactly as ordered. Neat fold-away cable. USB-C adapter perfect for my MacBook Pro.Follow-up review. 4 months after purchase, not having used the CD/DVD-RW Drive Writer since it first arrived, I tried to use it and it failed. Windows would not recognise it. Waste of money. Shame.

Does the job
I purchased this to use with a 2017 MacBook Pro and it works quite well. DVDs can be played using the Apple player app and I copied half a dozen CDs into iTunes without any problems. The plug and play feature works well although it does take a while to read the CD before it starts to import the tracks. However I do have a couple of gripes; firstly the included USB adapter interferes with WiFi so I had to replace it with an expensive Apple adapter and secondly, one of the photos appears to have been altered to show the product as being 'made in Japan' when in fact it's made in China. Putting these issues aside, the product does the job at a fairly low price point. I was going to give three stars but the seller was very helpful and offered guidance on the WiFi issue and a full refund if I wanted it so I think four stars is fair.

Great value for money
Works really well on my MacBook. The case is a bit tacky but for the price I can't fault it. Have ripped several CDs into iTunes with no trouble, and it's really fast.

Then disappointment that Apple had not said anything about the slot ...
Chuffed with my new MacBook Air, I went to put a new CD into the slot on the right hand side ... and the slot wasn't there! Quick look at some online chats. Then disappointment that Apple had not said anything about the slot not being there and asking for what seemed to me quite a lot of money to supply it. Amazon found this product for me. Not expensive, and as easy to use as those old Apple products that needed no guidebook at all. Plug it in and there you are - iTunes promptly up to date with the new CDs.
