Thoroughly impressed with this.
I can't believe how well this has sharpened some of my knives. I have little experience of knife sharpening, and I didn't use lapping fluid, just carefully ran the stone along the flat edge of the blade using small, circular motions and the three knives I've tried have exceeded my expectations in how sharp they've become. The first was an Ikea kitchen knife that had just lost its edge. It now slices like a new knife. The second was a kitchen knife my partner's son had used to open cardboard boxes and completely dulled the blade. It's now sharp enough to easily cut yourself on. The third is my penknife. It takes some punishment as it's used almost every day to open sacks of horse food and hay bales, and had reached the point where I had to saw to cut baler twine. Now it cuts through with a single slash. Brilliant piece of kit. I can't imagine how I coped without it.

Not bad
Can be a bit fiddly to use, but handy size good for keeping an edge on bushcraft knife while out.

Great piece of kit.
I continually use this to sharpen my chisels. Had it well over a year and still great.

Useful for my silver work
This is handy for my jewellery work, I use it to get the bottom of bezels flat after I have soldered them so they will lie flush on the back plate. It's handy to be able to have it flat on the bench and then move the piece over it. Useful grit sizes.

Nice, easy to use sharpening block.
This is double sided with different grades of sharpening, and is diamond based so more resistant to wear.

Very handy product to sharpen in hard to reach places, such as in between small teeth on a bandsaw or circular saw, which is what I use it for. I had one, but it was starting to go dull in certain places, so I bought a new one. Will it stay as flat and true as a thick benchstone model? No, of course not, it is the trade-off you make for a handy light weight model. Same goes for the fact that the diamonds tend to loosen more quickly. A thin plate means less material in which the diamonds can be embedded, but when you need it in tight spots, it needs to be thin. As I said, it is a trade-off. But it’s a very good quality product in it’s class.
