The bottles are nice BUT be careful that the lines maked 2-3-4-5-6 do not match with the amount of liquid in oz. For example, 4oz of liquid is NOT at number 4 but rather at ~ line number 3. In order words, your baby may get too much water for the amount of formular powder you use if you don't measure the liquid out in a measuring cup.

Easy to Clean, Hard to Find Parts
We have a four-month-old daughter who has been using Playtex VentAire standard bottles for the past month with notable success. They have worked nicely for the following reasons:1. The bottles did not cause the dreaded "nipple confusion" when transitioning between the bottle at daycare and breastfeeding when baby is with mom.2. Although it does have a lot of pieces, the fact that the bottle disassembles completely makes it easy to thoroughly clean and disinfect its various parts.The bottles have presented one challenge:1. Replacement parts - like extra slow flow nipples - can be hard to find. Nipples wear out, and wanting extras to have on hand, I ended up buying extra bottles instead because it was nearly impossible to find the slow flow variety (and it was cheaper to buy extra bottles from Amazon than to pay the exorbitant shipping from the two sources who sold the nipples separately).UPDATE (3/2012): As my daughter has reached her first birthday, Playtex VentAire has been my favorite bottle for transitioning between breastfeeding and bottle feeding. We have also used Playtex Drop-Ins. This is how the two compare:1. The VentAire slow flow nipples are much slower than the Drop-In slow flow nipples, which is preferable for a baby that is accustomed to breastfeeding (more control over the milk flow, and thus less gagging and spitting up).2. Once a baby learns how to hold the bottle themselves, we have discovered that the VentAire bottle can be flung wildly around and does not leak. However, the Drop-Ins bottle leaks everywhere when it is turned upside-down (and baby WILL turn it upside-down). (In both cases, this refers to the slow flow nipple variety for each bottle.)2. Our daughter can feed herself from both the VentAire and Drop-In bottles, but it is a bit easier for her to handle the VentAire. She can feed herself one-handed while sleep-eating with the VentAire by grasping the recessed bottle bottom and holding it straight up in the air. The Drop-In bottle requires her to use two hands due to the fact it is wider.

The airflows are easily blocked by water. It is complicated to wash and assembled. It takes long time to dry, and can't be warmed up in water.

Needed slow flow
My baby wasn't having gas problems but spilling problems as in the other bottles' low flow was causing him to choke and spill most of the milk. I read the reviews and one of the constant complaints was the slow flow. Perfect, just what I needed.And they worked. I do squeeze the nipple and pour some into my hand to make sure it's flowing as I had once or twice that they did not.Also people said they leaked and that only happened once but I think it was due to the bottom not being attached too well.So I don't know if they work with really gassy babies but the flow was perfect for my little guy.Make sure the bottom part and the ring at the base are super dry. I read that helps with the flow and leaking issues.Also other reviews said they couldn't be sterilized in the microwave but I do all the time and no issues.

9 oz in pictures
Since the product is discontinued by the manufacture, Amazon is the only place I can get it. However, the picture is misleading. The bottles are 6 oz, while the pictures show 9 oz bottles. Be aware of that.

They don't leak!
The bottles say they keep bubbles out of the formula, but the formula looks bubbly to me in this bottle. Though these bottles do not leek as long as you attach everything correctly.

I had to return as they don't give color choice. How can I take pink bottle with my 7 month old boy outside. People may laugh at me.

bottle works great for baby who has trouble sucking
Our three-week-old has poor suction. With normal bottles, to get him to eat well, I have to loosen the nipple ring, and that leads to leaks--the cloth under his chin will be covered with milk. I use a Ventaire we bought about two years ago together with a (new) Nuk nipple (he doesn't seem to like round nipples very much, though it may just be that we started with the Nuk), and it works great. To get faster flow, I can just tighten the nipple ring but loosen the bottom ring, and as long as I remember not to set it down on it (which is hard) I get decent flow without any leaks.
