Non Return Valve For Pond Airpump Line or Aquaium Pump Airline

If you own an air pump then you should own a non return valve. It stops the water syphoning backwards down the tubing into the pump when you turn the pump off or ie when electric goes out etc. A must have product specially as they aren't expensive, if water is able to syphon backwards it will end up in the air pump and that could cause electric shock, fire, flooding. So a must have if you have an air pump. Would recommend.

I purchased this as it seemed to be the thing to do from the recommendation on Amazon, Easy fit in-line (make sure it's the right way round!) with the tubing also purchased so tank now bubbling away happily, however I shall get a t-piece to spread the bubbles around the tank.

Unless you read what else people bought when they bought an air pump you would have no idea what this is. Basically it stops the water running backwards into the pump when you turn the pump off. An essential piece of equipment which you might have overlooked if you were a beginner like me.

This non return valve seems to take a lot of force to push the air through, not sure if they are all like this

Worked well and did the job.

I do not use these for their intended use. I put 150mm of 5mm tube on either side, and use for a stress free system to bleed brakes on my cars. And for this they work well.
