Lamaze Captain Calamari Spin & Explore Gym

Have seen many of these products online but liked this one because of the colours and activities. Bought for 6 week old baby girl and whilst she only goes on it for a short period of time each day, seems to have strengthened her neck. At first she wasn't so keen and cried/moaned a little as she was not used to being on her belly, two weeks later and she doesn't cry and enjoys the activities. Not sure if she has started to stretch for the activities or whether it is by accident that she grabs them but which ever way, she is enjoying them. The mirror is clear and moveable, there is also a peek a boo rattle and other good activities. Not a very big play gym and probably will be out of it by six months but is doing the job now. Not expensive either when you look at the price of others. Would recommend and if I was looking to buy a rotating baby gym, would definitely buy this one.

I gave this 5 stars because I love it.I bought this for my Grandson because it had been recommended to my daughter by a baby group that had one for the mothers to try out. After my Grandson had tried it in the group, my daughter said that he loved it. Fantastic for tummy time! It arrived in next to no time and it looked interesting. My Grandson, 4 months old was completely in his element. He was pulling himself around touching all the different things. It looked like hard work and can only stay on it for a short time. But the time he does spend on it greatly improves head and neck strength. Lovely product, very colourful and baby friendly.I would recommend.

This product was recommended to me by a mum and a baby sensory class when I had concerns that my baby was not getting alot of tummy time. The toy is suitable from birth but my baby has only just taken to it at 6 months when her arms and legs can reach the floor and she can raise her head and shoulders. I also used the playmat by itself as it is very portable and folds up easily.I look forward to seeing how my baby will make the most of the toy , there are so many little features in the design.

for me son i had a simple play mat. he wasn't really interested in it, get bored very soon. and the for my wee girl i find this one. and its amazing. she lies on it, spins around with her wee hands. and now - she is 5 months old and sits perfectly alone. this gym trains her back and tummy muscles, arms and coordination, imagination. great for little ones from around 2-3 months - whenever you don't need to support their head.my girl really enjoys playing on it. just one small thing - that you cant put baby on it straight after eating (otherwise - everything goes up).

I bought this as our daughter loved her tummy time but at a few months old wasn't strong enough to lift her head for long and kept face planting. She was so frustrated and I didn't want her to stop enjoying tummy time. This was great and really strengthened her back. She couldn't turn it it for a while but that was okay just playing with the scrunchy leaves was enough. Now she can turn the table it has a whole different appeal and the mat is great on its own - she can roll over and find fun things to do. For a Mum it is practical as lightweight, packes down small, washes and most importantly dries really easily.

Our daughter was struggling with tummy time so we bought this to promote her using her arms to lift instead of having them straight by her side like an aeroplane. She got the hang of it but wasn’t able to tolerate it for too long. She isn’t a fan of tummy time full stop. She has grown out of the tummy time lady bird centre piece but continues to play on the play mat which she adores and is small enough to take out easily on days out. Great quality product but a bit pricey for what you get.

It’s a great toy. Nice colors, sturdy. My son hates tummy times, but he loves this toy. Not sure if it’s good for newborn. I started using it when my son was 2 months old. It can be used as a play mat when baby can sit and definitely worth the money. I would buy it again and it’s would be a great present too. Was delivered very fast and in expected not damaged anyhow condition.

I bought this after hearing about how important "tummy time" is, this must be a bit of a new concept as i was never told of it before with my older children, so i immediatly bought this. The mat is slightly smaller than i thought it was going to be, but it is very colourful and really catches my daughters attention, she is only 16wks but can spin it the whole way round. The longest she will stay on it is 5-10 mins, which isnt long, but i suspect as she gets older she will use it more, its worth mentioning that since we got this she has been sleeping much better, and i think that this along with her jumperoo totally tire her out and she now sleeps all night through. I think its a good purchase and not too expensive, if she uses it more in the coming months then it will be worth the money.
