Slightly Dissappointed
As this has been bought as a Christmas gift for a coffee lover I can't rate the quality of the product, I can however say how disappointed I was to see that the Best Before date on the product box is January 2018 which is only 2 months away and as it's been bought this close to Christmas it's pretty obvious that it's for a gift. I know there's a big difference between best before and use by but I do feel that I've been fobbed off with old stock that they need to shift. The packaging looks fine and delivery was good but I would think twice before ordering again.

6x100g variety coffee beans
The pack contains 6x100g bags of coffee beansI could not describe myself as a super taster where coffee is concerned, but quite fussy. I rarely drink instant, and always have milk. Favorite beverage is a latte and I buy preground coffee and daily make a frothy coffee at home using an espresso machine with a steam attachment to froth the milk. I'd choose a fresh cup of breakfast tea over 'work style' coffee machine beverage made with dried milk.I'm testing out all of the coffee blends in the expresso machine. All of the packets are made from foil with a small breather hole. I cant see any expiry date information, on the direct pack, there is not even a bean type on each packet. This bean information is not on the outer packaging either, although there is an expiry Nov 17. Doesn't state that the beans are produced organically, or that the coffee workers get a fair deal for what they produce.Ethiopia- nothing on the packet about the type of beans my grinder does do a fine grind so I was probably using 50-100% more coffee than I would normally. Hence this did not seem very strong. There was no bitterness and a rich after taste. My other half thought it left his mouth feeling dry, I've never found that with any coffee so couldn't relate to it.Costa Rica- stated as arabica beans on the packet. Smell bitter/burnt on opening the packet. Once made into a cup of coffee its ok, certainly not a sweet tasting blend.Guatamala- this bean seemed quite strong and little bit bitter. My least favourite.Honduras and Nicaragua- I could tell the difference between these two if I'm honest.Ethiopia - quite a rounded flavour. If I'm honest if you made a cup of each of these I'd be hard pressed if they were not labeled to tell which was which. (I can do a blind taste testing of Cola and tell a couple of brands apart) The coffee is nice and would make a gift for a coffee lover. However its more than double the price of my branded ground coffee from the super market. On that basis I cant really recommend it.

Great taste!
A lovely selection of some really good quality, tasty, and refreshing coffees to delight anyone with a sense of adventure. Six very different coffees in this selection, all distinctive, all really flavoursome. None disappoint. An ideal gift for a coffee loving friend or colleague. Purecup are renowned for quality and this selection is a showcase for them. Lovely gift.

Everyone for Coffee
Struggling to discern any real difference in taste between any of the coffees but the packaging is beautiful so they would make an excellent gift.

Purecup Bronze Origin Coffee Whole Bean - Would be Nice to See a Roasting Date on Them for Freshness
What it does not say anywhere is when the beans were roasted so not really anything about how fresh they are. Have they been sat on a shelf for a few months before being dispatched or done within a few weeks? Would be nice to know a date. A long expiry date on the pack but really you do have to ask yourself if something has been left so long then it will not be as fresh or taste as good even in a vacuum pack. All beans loose their flavour after so long so for the price we got four coffees out of one bag so not bad but it all depends on how you like your coffee. The beans in the Indonisian one seemed a lot darker than our usual type of beans. (Usually roast our own from green beans and the colour is not normally as dark as these are). The coffee it gave us when made into a latte was not as smooth, not bitter or nasty tasting like some beans can taste and no aftertaste left after drinking. But not quite the body that we usually have in our coffee. Now to me I thought it was slightly on a par to some coffees used in some shop cafes but husband disagreed and thought it not quite as good as some.Glad to have tried it out but would prefer beans you know when have been roasted so know the freshness of them. Can see the appeal for coffee lovers but if you have roasted your own beans then these will not seem as good.Update the Nicaraguan beans we liked the most as they seemed not such as dark a roast and enjoyed by all those that tried them.

A varied selection of beans in a gift pack...
As a gift idea for a coffee lover this isn't a bad idea. the packaging is a little plain and insubstantial, however, the contents inside certainly make up for it. The coffee selection is varied in terms of taste and origin and you get six 100g bags of beans; which obviously means you need a grinder, as well as a cafetiere to brew it in. Tastes vary, and I'm not overly fond of Nicaraguan coffee blends, however, overall, there was enough variety to within the pack to appeal and give opportunity to try beans and blends I otherwise wouldn't have bothered with. It would be an acceptable gift to give to someone who likes coffee and likes experimenting, even to the point of blending different countries beans together.
