Maudlin's Mayhem (Bewitching Bedlam Book 2)

Yasmine Galenorn always writes books containing strong independent women. Women who know their place in the world and are happy with it, who have no issues with how they look or whether they are in a relationship. Women who need no one and nothing to complete them and manage to live happy fulfilling lives. Such women are a bit to read about. Maddy and her friend Sandy are two more in that vein, witches and best friends they live on an island full of preternatural people,or creatures depending on your point of view. Mardy runs a bed and breakfast while Sandy owns her own buisness both are successful in what they do and also are never lacking for male companionship, although in book one of this series Mardy meets and gets involved with a vampire she maintains her independence. At the start of this book Mardy has settled into Bedlam and the B&B is doing well except for the fact that Mardy cannot keep a housekeeper longer than a few weeks, cooking and cleaning for the guests is not Maddy's idea of a good time so when the perfect replacement shows up Mardy hires him immediately. At around the same time strange things start to happen to people and pets around Maddy some of which are disturbing and dangerous, turns out someone is out to make trouble for Mardy again and she has to find out who quickly or her best friend Bubba and Aegis may end up dead for real.

Well what goes wrong can go wrong.....This is Book 2 in the Series and we get to explore more of the Characters and see the relationship with Vampire Aegis grow.I recommend reading book 1 and there's a couple of novellas to accompany the series.Everything is going great the B&B is full and Maddy is a Happy Witch until a run of bad luck...... Including Bank account Hacked and mishaps involving her friends..... What could it be a Hex and who would have hexed her and how far will it go......Another great series by Yasmine Galenorn.

I love the Bewitching Bedlam series, and this is as good as ever! I am so glad to read there will be even more by the end of the year.

great book, great series

The second book in this urban fantasy series sees Maudlin (Maddy) Gallowglass ensconce herself firmly in the magical town of Bedlam. Business at her B&B is good; no empty rooms after porn star Snow White and her 7 co-stars make a booking, her relationship with vampire Aegis is still red hot plus she has good friends in her life; fellow witch Sandy, her Cjinn Bubba and resident ghost Frannie. Then someone hexes Maddy with a curse powerful enough to seriously affect her loved ones. It’s time to brush off her magical cobwebs; the powerful, infamous, Mad Maudlin is back.It wasn’t until I finished “Maudlin’s Mayhem” that I discovered there are 2 novellas available that should be read beforehand. I would definitely recommend reading “Blood Vengeance” and “Tiger Tails” first; as characters and references to events in them are mentioned quite a lot in this book. “Bewitching Bedlam” is proving to be an entertaining read, but I continue to think that Maddy hasn’t unleashed her full scope of power. The story line has plenty of drive to it when several lives are turned upside down and a conclusive ending, yet there are other threads revealing themselves which I hope are explored further as this series continues. I look forward to reading book 3 “Siren’s Song” and note book 4 “Witches Wild” is due for publication next month.
