Poor!
This book is very poor indeed. I bought it for inspiration and to develop a fun way of teaching thinking skills for a year 5 class. Unfortunately there is no 'look inside' option because if there had been I wouldn't have wasted my money. It is not cheap either! It gives barely any introduction to the background or concepts related to de Bono's ideas and launches straight in with poorly conceived lessons for each curriculum subject. There are a few brief examples of the types questions that could be asked with three of the colours of hat. It leaves the rest to you to develop yourself (which is absolutely fine but what is offered is minimal and you do not need to be a teacher to come up with these ideas). The book itself is poor quality, no colour at all inside, just printed in black and white. What is especially annoying is that it boasts templates for teachers to cut out and use such as a spinner that will land on a particular colour or some flash cards. But guess what? They are black and white and it asks you to colour them in yourself. How professional looking and tiresome given the price paid for the book! My verdict: Do not buy this book unless it's price comes down. It is worth probably around £3.99. Everything in it you can design and think up yourself, only better, and the internet will give you better advice and information on de Bono for free!
