Fabulous
Excellent product. Easiest bike rack i have ever fitted. Held 2 bikes with ease, and only needed a couple of bungies to stop the free wheels spinning, but this is my preference Not sure why people say it takes a long time to set up.... i swear it took me less than 10 mins, in the back room, before i took it and tried it on car.... but that may just have been luck Love the fact that folded it will stay in my boot, or sit behind drivers seat if i am transporting the dog Well constructed and lovely and light, with a lifetime guarantee, what more can you want

Sturdy, great bit of kit
I'm really happy with this, it appears well made, it's sturdy, secure and does the job. Thick rubber pads prevent it leaving marks on your car as some bike holders can. Build quality seems really good.

Great product, but check the hooks fit
Used on a hatchback vauxhall estate and it fits well. After a bit of practice it is quick to get on and off. Feels sturdy and the bikes are secure. Great product for the price. Only downside is that the metal hooks on the straps rely on having wide enough panel gaps, which may not always be the case. They are also hard metal, so could easily damage paintwork if you are, for example, sliding them along because they don't fit in the gap. It feels like a strong plastic would be a better choice.

It will damage your car, fitments are poor design. Metal fittings from rack to the paint of your car
Ok product fits well. The fittings are metal no softness on the contact points to your vehicle, wouldnโt like to connect two cycles to this as the cycle moves around a lot. If like me you were looking to save on a purchase of a tow bar , this isnโt a good choice. For one cycle this is ok, if you have a couple of cheaper end bike this will be great. Ant also if you have a cheap boot to attach this rack to.

Excellent Bike Rack
I read the reviews and decided this was the product for me. It was definitely worth that few pounds more. It was fitted the first time in 10 minutes and this was the first bike rack Iโve ever fitted. The bike when fitted is very secure and did not move at all. Protection on the legs is also excellent. 5 stars from me

It fits Nissan Qashqai & it works!
Never having used any product like this before, I was a bit apprehensive and wasn't sure it if was going to fit my car or if it will work. As suggested by another reviewer, I chose to watch a video instead of following the 2 page instructions, which was a good call I think. Wasn't too difficult to set it up, having 2 people helped as one person was able to hold the rack in place while the other put on the clips to various places on the car & tighten the belts. Took about 10 mins to set it up and we were ready to go. We needed to use only one bike for now, which fitted quite well. I had separately ordered a couple of straps to keep the front wheel steady, which came in handy. We drove from Birmingham to Cambridge on combination of motorway & A roads, and had no issues. By the end of the trip, we did notice the rack had gotten a bit wonky, most probably because I didn't tighten one side of the belt properly. Or perhaps the clip could have moved a little, loosening the belt a little. Overall, quite happy with it. Now the issue is where to store it, as it's not small :). Need to find a place in the shed.

Fits BMW 2 Series Grande Coupe
Recommended by my local cycle shop and didn't disappoint. Easy to install (albeit a little time consuming) and so sturdy.

Good solid bike rack, with one drawback
The Saris Bones 2 rack is well made and designed, simple to assemble, compact to store and really solid on the back of the car. Iโve got an electric bike with a built in battery in the down tube so the anti sway straps donโt fit, but I just use some bungees for that purpose, the straps will fit a conventional bike. One downside, despite it being recommended for our car, Skoda Rapid, a fitted bike obscures the number plate which may cause an issue with the police. I plan to fit a temporary plate when using the rack again. Otherwise fully recommended.

This Bones 2 rack is very nice - especially for the price
I purchased this to carry road bikes. This is a very high quality product that is worth the price. For practice I just mounted this rack on my 2013 Hyundai Genesis and then on my Cadillac CTS 4. Neither of these vehicles are allowed to get a scratch. That was the main requirement. The rack definitely passes the no-scratch test for the three pads that touch your trunk and bumper. You could probably drive a few hundred miles without any abrasion under the three main pads. I will probably put a decent coat of wax under the pads anyway. The straps are a very sturdy design. There is plenty of extra strap. They are easy to latch down and loosen. I think they will survive a long trip if they are strapped according to the instructions. The buckles are metal, which is a good idea. The rungs that hold the bike are well designed. They are easy to use once you get used to how they work. The anti-sway rung is a very nice touch. Many other racks make you deal with keeping the bike from swaying. I want to share a mistake that I made during my first installation that you should try to avoid. On my first install, I put the top pad as far back on the trunk lid as I could. It was near where the trunk lid meets the back window of the car. This configuration allows the inner bike's inner pedal to strike the back trunk lid, and also allows the strap buckles to strike the surface of the lid. The solution is to move the top pad toward the back of the car a few inches (away from the back window). Just rotate the top spar downward until the spars that hold the bike are further from the car. It is that simple. The first time you install this rack, it might take you 20 minutes. The second time you install it will take 5 minutes. Once you figure it out, the rack is very easy to install. Taking it off the trunk takes a minute or two. As is probably true for most racks, it is our responsibility to keep the front wheel from turning and flopping in the wind. I would love it if racks had some way we could lock the front wheel down. It would be a nice touch if these racks came with the Saris straps to take care of that (they have them). For now, I am going to use a bungee cord to keep the front wheel still.

UPDATE - replaced it with a platform hitch-mount rack...better for someone younger and stronger
This purchase was an excellent decision. My retired husband and I have just started to cycle for exercise, and we have an Acura sedan and a Matrix hatchback. I wanted something that would be easy to install on either car. I installed it the first time this weekend, completely by myself including putting the two bikes on. I'm a 55 year old woman, and it was incredibly easy. I surprised my husband when I'd shown him my accomplishment. We took it out for the first time yesterday, and it was incredibly stable. And easy at both ends of the trip. UPDATE: This does not fit on the Acura TSX nearly as easily as the Matrix. As a result, we only used it on the Matrix. It took a lot of adjusting to get it stable. It requires quite a bit of strength to lift the bikes up onto the arm. There were many, um, disagreements over the installation, which made cycling not so much fun. I bought a new car and had a trailer hitch installed, so this year I'll buy a platform hitch-mount rack and sell this one to someone younger and stronger.
