A 6" x 3" x 3/4" sponge. Used dry to absorb dirt by wiping over surface in a sweeping motion in one direction. For cleaning jackets, boards and edges of books. Also great for computer screens, lamp shades etc.

Does a pretty good job!
This works way better than I expected after reading some of the reviews. It's not a miracle worker so couldn't remove years of smoke marks but did remove or lighten other marks. Very pleased.

Worked well
Worked well for me. We had a pigeon fall down our chimney and get trapped in the living room. It panicked, flew around the room, and bounced off the ceiling leaving greasy soot marks on the white surface.I followed the instructions and I found that this worked well. Not a perfect finish - there are a couple of spots where the bird's wing has left an indent which is impossible to clean completely - but far better than I expected, and certainly good enough that I don't feel any need to redecorate.I would recommend this and I have bought a second eraser "just in case".

Disappointing
Bought it to clean the ash off the inside glass part of a modern fireplace after having read good reviews but I must say I was very disappointed with the result.

really works, honest review
totally honest, this really works for removing soot, vacuum over the soot and smoke area first then wipe dry with this sponge and you will be amazed, I was, really impressed and did the job, then wipe the area with a solution of tri-sodium phosphate diluted and the soot is gone, i hardly needed to paint over.

Excellent product & removed candle soot off wallpaper really well . I would definitely recommend the Absorene dirt eraser in the future

Waste of money!!
What a waste of money!!!!Got this to clean soot from kitchen walls after my grill caught fire.Didn't work, not even slightly!!! :(Don't waste your money!!

Magic....
What an amazing little soot eraser! Although sceptical about claims for wonder cleaning products, I bought this item when our oil fired boiler went beserk and pumped layers of soot into my newly decorated utility room. The sponge attracts soot and magically continues to attract more, without re-attaching the collected soot back to the surface. The instructions need to be followed carefully during the process - working down the surfaces with even strokes and under no circumstances letting the sponge come in contact with moisture while using. It can, however, be rinsed after use, and continues to work when allowed to dry completely.
