Nagaoka MP type cartridge MP-110H

Compared top a stock mid-spec Cartridge - everything is fuller from the lows to the highs, it's a very responsive cartridge. There's no reason to spend more and get a Moving Coil (MC) Cartridge. Not all decks or amps have a MC Phono-stage, mine will take both MM & MC. This is one of the best Moving Magnet (MM) Cartridges you can get and it comes with a quality tip on the Stylus.

Unless spending a fortune, this covers all the bases. Super tracker, very low surface noise and very musical. Solid bass on my Technics SL 1700 Mk1

I am not an audiophile, but I enjoy vinyl. I have an old Technics SL-D2. I know it’s not high end, but it is a turntable I have wanted since childhood (I won’t bore you with the sappy story). I have tried other cartridges (round and elliptical). All were good, but what a difference this cartridge made. The midrange and vocals popped. The bass was extended. The highs were crisp. The difference was noticeable even with my non audiophile ears. I recommend this cartridge.

I do not often write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so in this situation. I consider myself a bit of an audio snob and am a certified in audio engineering. Thusly I like to play a lot of my music over my reference system which due to it’s design amplifies any imperfections in the audio chain. I was chasing distortions and inner groove issues which were the weakest part of my audio setup. (In this case it was my stylus) I changed out turn tables, ran setups, played with weights, and isolation options and was about to give up on it until I found this cartridge which someone recommended would be perfect for an PL120 turntable. Sure enough I was extremely happy to find the head shell alignment was almost perfect out of the box and after some very minimal and rudimentary setup (weight, azimuth and tracking) this cartridge is performing at a whole different level. If you are on the fence, I highly recommend you try this out. If you struggle with your S Tone Arm producing inner groove distortion leaving the last track crunchy, I feel you will find this cartridge fixes this issue flawlessly. The only downfall now is the quality of some of my well-loved vintage records come through as this cartridge is hypersensitive.

Installée sur une Denon DP400 à la place de la cellule de base, c’est une vraie redécouverte de mes vinyles. Un son très détaillé et une très bonne dynamique. Un bon Supertramp et la magie opère à nouveau. Je ne regrette pas mon achat.
