Mapex Tornado 200 Series Hi-Hat Stand

I'm a new drummer. I've been in bands for years, so I've learned a bit through osmosis but I couldn't tell you good equipment from bad. With that said, this was one of the cheaper hi-hat stands on Amazon and I'm using it with a Roland TD17-KVX, which has a hi-hat that I think is slighter heavier than a normal, acoustic hi-hat.As I said, I can't tell you how this stacks up against more expensive models but it works for me. The pedal feels nice and sensitive. I don't have to put too much pressure on it and I'm able to get a good range of sounds nonetheless. It's certainly very sturdy.If I had one criticism it's that there were no instructions. I know that'll sound silly to most drummers, but it did take me a few minutes to work out how to screw the pieces together and alter the tension. A little slip of paper with some basic instructions would have assured me I was getting it right.

bought this for my Little girl who is approaching 5 to use on a full adult sized drum kit, although not being the best Hi Hat stand out there is a fair piece of kit for the cost and works fairly well, the return could be a little stronger as with the 14 inch Zildjian Scimitar Hi Hat cymbals she uses the return is a little sluggish but then they are a very old heavy set of cymbals, I would think with a more modern and lighter set of cymbals this stand would be better.

It works and it's good, but the rod is a bit too short. In other words, i can't put a tambourine above the hi-hat. But as a hi-hat pedals go, it's a good option new when all the second hand options i found were at least £25.

Good sturdy like stand and does the job

Quantity is fine and service was good, but returned mine as it's not tall enough - would be fine for a junior drummer but not for an adult

It works and is not too expensive

Very well made, I don't know how they do it for the price. Delivery was very good.

Full flavour, full size stand (approx. 1m high), nice mechanism. Top shop!
