Energy Saving Radiator Panels - 5 pack

These panels work out quite expensive if you do all your rads. They are frankly a bit fiddly to retrofit, it takes a long time to attach the two-sided self-adhesive tape and the tape only sticks well on the smoothest of painted surfaces. I shall have to use glue to stick back several panels which have come adrift. And the aesthetics arent great either: the missus hates them.

These looked like a great alternative to conventional reflective material that comes rolled up, leaving you puzzling how to mount it effectively without removing the radiators. The package arrived in good time. Inside were the panels, a roll of good quality double-sided tape and a single sheet installation guide. The guide was clear and easy to use and it was the work of a couple hours to install all 5 panels.A couple of points to note- The panels are a standard size and of course radiators are not. The guide suggests that to get best results you need to completely cover the wall behind the radiator. To assist in this the panels have pre-marked lines to allow you to cut them to size. Each radiator needs at least 3 seprate pieces: one in the middle and two on either side of the mounting brackets. It was no problem to do this, but it meant that I didn't order enough panels. I managed to do only 3 radiators with my 5 panels and will order another 5.- You need a feather duster or similar to clean dust and cobwebs from behind the radiator. The panels glue to the wall it's mounted on so that needs to be reasonably clean- You also need a thin garden cane or other long, thin, slightly flexible rod - this is used to ensure the panels are pushed securely onto the wallOverall I am delighted with the product, and as above am ordering some more

Good thick aluminium foil. This different widths make it easy to size & i even found my sticky back foil tape to join/seal between panels. 1 tip is double-sided tape will wreck the wallpaper but if you get some thin timber the length od the radiator & tape it to that, then suspend stick on rad brackets, it makes a super tidy job. (& if renting u can take to next place when you go & not risk deposit.

in most cases you don't have to struggle with sticks etc. to fit these , most radiators fitted to house have a certain amount of tolerance / free movement with the pipes , all you have to do is put a suitable support underneath the rad, then lift the rad at each end , you only have to lift the rad about 4 to 5 mm then gently lean it back a little bit enough to get you hand down the back to firmly push on the heat keeper panel, also like my pictures remove top grill if you have one fitted , one 5 pack in my house did 3 radiators 1100mm, 800mm, & 1000mm , time will tell if they work , also I used the double-sided tape at every bit on the back of the panels,

The take supplied is rubbish, refined them with impact adhesive. Rooms definitely warmer

I bought this product to replace similar backings that had been fitted when I bought my house some time ago. The supplied backings looked far more professional than the old ones that were shapeless and had started to come away from the walls.I fitted the backings with ease, as directed, and did not waste any of the supplied material. I used Loctite superglue as well as the supplied double sided tape to ensure that heating of the tape glue would not cause the backings to peel away from the wall.I have successfully fitted this excellent product behind all my radiators...just in time for the return of winter this March. They look good and do the job.

This item arrived promptly and was easy to fit. Unfortunately won't really know if it works as don't keep an eye on my energy use.Everywhere feels warmer now but this maybe as we had a mild winter butfeel I am doing my bit for the planet.
