Does not work in the day as they switch on at Dusk and can only be seen in the Dark.

does each device have 2 "eyes" or do you need to place them next to each other?

They have a single eye on each unit that flashes intermittently once dark. Mine are spaced 60ft apart facing roadway & gate entrances. These have been effective since they were installed. Can't fault them as the visibility of the flashing red eye is visible even 100 yards away.

Any success with muntjac deer? They're eating all the plants in my new border!!

How does this gadget charge up when there's no sun, only rain, rain and more rain or constant cloud cover for weeks on end (our typical UK weather!)?

It appears to only need daylight, rather than sunlight. As the previos answer, no problems since purcased.
