Kokido K074CBX Surface Skimmer, Blue

This little skimmer is amazing!! We bought a Bestway pool from Sam’s Club this summer but the pump setup is not made to deal with the problems of bugs on the surface of the pool, as it didn’t come with a skimmer. I was spending so much time cleaning the bugs out and my kids were not wanting to swim because I couldn’t get them all. This skimmer gets rid of about 98% of the bugs. I’m so happy with it. The instructions could be better but I managed. The quality is good but most importantly it works.

Its a really nice skimmer for the price and easy to setup and works good, Although it is only a 1" hose (couldnt find that info anywhere) so it cant be used with 1 or 1.5hp hayward style above ground large pools its for small little pools with 1" inlet intake. I did modify it and am using it anyway but took some serious reworking. But the skimmer did great took care of all the things floating on a 24x16 in probably 2 hours. Just make sure to tighten the bucket maybe 1" below water surface very tight and let the basket float up, thats the design of it, it swirls water and works very well to draw in dirt. I think they sell fabric liners also.

The skimmer was easy to assemble and attach to our Bestway 18' x 9' above ground pool from Costco. Plenty of adapters for a perfect fit. Initially, the skimmer did not work at all due to insufficient pump power. The skimmer manual says it will work will pumps rated aslow as 800 gph but our 1,000 gph pump was too weak. Maybe our pump has to do too much work pushing water through the solar heater. The skimmer worked perfectly (see video) after I plugged the second outlet from the pool and diverted all pump power to one outlet and one inlet. The bottom of the skimmer basket arrived with a big crack so I'll need to get that replaced by Amazon. Other than that, the skimmer works very well and removed 95% of the surface bugs, pollen, and debris. Husband-tested and wife-approved!

We use this skimmer on our 18' Summer Waves above ground pool and it works great at skimming. Our pool has the blow up ring around the top and you have to place it just right and check on it occasionally until you do get it right. If you don't get it on the ring in the right position, the movement of the water can lift the blue floating part of the skimmer out of the water and before you know it, no water is running through the pump. (hope I said that right and it makes sense) This is no fault of the product and I imagine it's easy to get right on an above ground pool as shown in the picture. It does fit tight on the ring of the pool as one person said but there are no sharp edges to worry about popping the ring (not that I can see anyway). I also use a nylon sock on the inside of the catch basin. I do this to catch small bugs, dirt, grass, etc. to try and keep the filter clean longer.

Skimmer works fantastically with our 5000 gallon metal framed Intex pool - I used to have to spend an hour getting all the crud floating on the top when we wanted to get in but now I spend like 5 minutes - I did get socks for it because any little stuff will go right through the holes of the basket but this with the socks are the perfect accessory to help keep our pool cleaner! I know it has all kinds of adapters to hook onto various types of pools but I still wondered if it would fit ours being a non round metal frame - some said it would fit some said it would not (it does and I included a picture) I put it on it fits super snug and have stayed and worked great ever since - it has been at least a month we have been using it - a great inexpensive investment for sure!

Works ok. The fastening clamp should have teeth or something that keeps it from moving tightening the clamps. Had to rig something to keep it from moving

Seid wir den Skimmer verbaut haben ist die Wasserqualität sehr , sehr gut. Dadurch das die Fremdkörper doch eine Weile an der Oberfläche schwimmen und diese dann gleich ausgefiltert werden, kommt es zu keiner Verschmutzung. Nur als Anmerkung. Ein Kartuschenfilter wie er bei Pools als Zubehör angeboten wir ist nicht ausreichend. Dann lieber einen vernünftigen Sandfilter gekauft da sonst die Kartusche alle halbe Stunde gereinigt werden muss. (Bei den Sandfilter steht immer dabei maximale Laufzeit 4h. Stimmt nicht unser läuft außer Nachts permanent :-))

Wir haben diesen Skimmer vor dem Ablauf zur Pumpe/ Filter gesetzt, dadurch ist die Wasseroberfläche immer sauber. Die Halterung ist auch klasse und stabil. Als kleinen Tip: Ich gebe immer das Granulat in den Skimmer, dadurch verteilt es sich am besten im Poolwasser und der Filter wird vernünftig desinfiziert durch das Chlor.

Ich habe den Skimmer kokido Skimbi bekommen, der dem Skimmer auf dem Bild oben optisch absolut gleicht (außer dass er vorne komplett mit Sicherheitshinweisen bedruckt ist), aber leider nur für 32mm Schläuche geeignet ist (abweichend zu der Angabe bei den Fragen oben, dass der Schlauch 38mm hätte). Ich habe ihn auf 38mm umgebaut, so dass ich meinen inzwischen in die Jahre gekommenen alten Skimmer mit 38mm-Anschluss einfach ersetzen kann.

Fonctionne très bien une fois installé mais la pince de fixation est trop petite pour les piscine tubulaire intex de 5.49 de diamètre et plus.
