Cheesy Bacon Box - Cheese Making Kit & Bacon Curing Kit

I've always loved the idea of homegrown food, yet I'd never thought it even possible to make my own cheese, I figured you had to be a farmer for that. I saw this and decided to order it on a whim - probably the best whim I've ever had! The package arrived promptly and I was delighted with the clear instructions on what to do, which really couldn't be easier. You get a good load of cheese for the price, so I would say it's great value, and I have to say, whether it's that I feel some ownership for making it or not I don't know, but it's genuinely one of the most delicious cheeses I've ever had. I've recommended it to many friends and have already ordered another box for a Christmas present. Here starts the cheese revolution...!

Where to start? I'll be honest I was a little unsure before this arrived about how difficult the 'cooking' would be. But I needn't have worried.My pork/bacon is now curing and I can't wait to get to the point where I can try it. My children have asked me to wait until the weekend to make the cheese as they want to be a part of it. We are planning to start with mozzarella. I'll post some photos when we've finished producing our food :) and update this review following the taste test!As an idea for Christmas I would definitely recommend it. For vegetarians there is a cheese only version I think , which we might try next.Delivery was quick from a UK seller. No concerns there at all. Everything you need is included apart from the milk or pork. What are you waiting for?

It was a gift, so unsure of taste or contents

Bought two one for each of my some they seemed really happy with it and are looking forward to doing it.

The bacon is really easy to make. I used one of the curing sachets with belly pork and made steaky bacon. I used the other with pork loin and made back bacon.The mozzarella uses so much milk to make it, so I've only made one lot. I will try ricotta next.The instructions for mozzarella could be better, so I'd suggest you watch a few YouTube videos before trying it.Good fun making your own and very satisfying to eat it 😁

I love this product, the results were amazing, it was a terrific surprise to eat the best mozzarella I had ever tasted, it was best with tomato and basil... Pizza next.There was a surprising quantity of cheese so I might try cutting all the proportions in half next time.I'll definitely order another box as soon as this one is finished. I really liked the instructions, which contain just the right amount of detail, I am normally a bit hopeless at following recipes but these instructions were fine. Now I've made cheese, I am wondering why I didn't get round to it earlier, it's actually a lot easier than I thought.I'm unsure how much organic mozzarella would cost but since I used organic milk from the supermarket, I guess it worked out much cheaper by using this kit.
