mindblowing.
had vouchers couldnt find anything else to buy and remembered liing this. then it turns up pop it on in the car on the way to work and arrive 35mins later froathing at the mouth. totally took me back to a decade where punk and metal mixed,my local and listening to this whilst getting wasted. never one of the top bands but so influencial its untrue and under rated. if you like 100mph double bass pedals, pounding bass and face punching hook riffs these are the boys. not gonna pick out any one track as every one was awesome and took me back. like me if your getting on a bit and come across these then buy it. worth every penny to be reminded how much fun my youth was and how much this band smashed out some blinding thrash tunes.

Raw uncompromising 80's thrash.
When you think Nuclear Assault you think 'The Plague' and 'Game Over' first and foremost.Having both together on one disk but still sounding as raw as ever is as much as we could have wished for. The appeal of both records has always been the raw unpolished intensity mixed with a quality to the songs that lifted Nuclear Assault above being just another band who played fast. Great lyrics, memorable riffs, vocals that could strip paint etc etc,you know the score its Nuclear Assault for crying out loud so I'll shut up telling you what you already know. What I can tell you that the sound of this disc is excellent and has in no way spoiled the edge of the music.

Classic Thrash
From the awesome art work, revolutionary music and Fantastic lyrics... Game Over is a masterpiece, and a genuine Thrash Metal Classic. This record contains truly original breakneck Thrash Metal; coupled with intelligent socially aware lyrics, bonehead humour and fretmelting guitar solos.John Connely's vocal style is a high pitched 'love it or hate it' scream, and is supported by more standard pitched backing vocals. Glenn's Drumming is always appropriate, brutal and uncompromising when necessary or delicate and stylish where appropriate and Dan's bass style (made famous on Fistful Of Metal by Anthrax) is fast, fuzzy and fun.The guitars are inventive, full of classically inspired solos and buzz saw speed, but are produced in such a way that makes them seem intense in complexity, yet subdued enough to listen to without discomfort unlike a few of the faster Slayer songs. This is a true landmark in Thrash, and its rather unfortunate how obscure the band are. If you like it, spread the word.

Real thrash metal
Finally got around to replacing my vinyl copy with a CD and it sounds fantastic. In an era where many thrash metal bands have tempered their agression to a more melodic style of music, Nuclear Assault have never compromised. This album is as relevant now as it was back then and easily compliments their most recent album 'Third World Genocide'. Anyone not old enough to remember the 80's should surely listen to bands such as Nuclear Assault, Kreator, Sacred Reich etc to experience real thrash metal at its finest and bear in mind that the likes of Metallica, Anthrax and to some extent Megadeth hame tamed down their music and are no longer real thrash. Death to false metal.

Muss man hierzu was schreiben?

Game Over

old school

The Plague!!!
This is classic Thrash from the east coast, NYC. The year is 1986, a watershed moment for the genre, what with Slayer's Reign In Blood, Kreator's Pleasure To Kill, MegaDeth's Peace Sells, Dark Angel's Darkness Descending, Metallica's Master Of Puppets, etc...Nuclear Assault are more aggressive, in the vein of the Germans, like Sodom, but more influenced by New York's burdgeoning hardcore scene, though they are much more Metal than crossover, ala DRI. Their singer, John Connelly, has a distinctively metal voice, almost in the league of OverKill's Bobby Blitz. Bassist, Dan Lilker, left Anthrax before forming Nuclear Assault, and would go on to form the GrindCore legends, Brutal Truth. The best part of this release is the inclusion of The Plague e.p., probably the best thing Nuclear Assault would ever put out. Cheers!

Its an assault alright. A classic album,
I will keep this sweet and not go into detail about every riff, song, lyrics, etc etc. Nuclear Assault, I hated them. Hated, as in past tense. Game Over is a great album and one of their bests. The vocals are insane, the double bass is intense, and the solos are impressive. It has taken me awhile to like this band, but I'm glad I can say I own this album. The track titles are interesting. The production is gritty, and full of static at times...but being a debut album, that is expected somewhat. Nuclear Assault has taken on "mature" concepts on thier first album, look at the titles, "Radiation Sickness, After The Holocaust, My America, Nuclear War, and Brain Death"If you like punk, crossover thrash, or thrash with an East Coast feel to it, Nuclear Assault and Game Over is exactly what you need. Possible turn off though would be the vocals, but like I said if you like punk, and crossover you should be okay with this band.
