Greg Heffley, the kid who made "wimpy" cool, is back in this side-splitting sequel based on the second installment of the best-selling book series. Having rid himself of the Cheese Touch, Greg enters the seventh grade with his confidence and friendships intact, and an eye on the new girl in town, Holly Hills. But things have gotten out of hand at home, especially with his big brother, Rodrick, and Greg is about to learn that there may be something even scarier than middle school--his own family. Special Features • Featurettes: My Summer Vacation, My Zoo-Wee Vacation! by Rowley Jefferson and My Magick Summer by Greg Heffley • Gag reel Brothers aren't supposed to get along, so it should come as no surprise that Greg and his older sibling Rodrick fight continuously. However, their mother has a different idea about what the relationship between two brothers should look like, and she writes a column about it for the local newspaper, so she should know. Never one to let nature take its course, Mum tries a variety of strategies to get the boys to bond--everything from the incentive-driven "mom bucks" to punishing them by leaving them home together for the weekend while the rest of the family heads to the water park. The wild party and ensuing chaos that one would expect when two boys are left home alone happens right on schedule, but so does a surprising development in the boys' relationship with one another. Greg pours his every thought about the difficulties of surviving middle school and living with brothers into his journal in this film, which is based on Jeff Kinney's book Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules . While it's definitely a different experience to see the cartoon stick figures from the book morph into human forms in the live-action film, director David Bowers and actors Zachary Gordon, Devon Bostick, Robert Capron, and Rachael Harris do a good job of preserving the feel of the book--specifically, how each of the characters is driven by emotion and how they are often overwhelmed by their sense of mental conflict and anguish. Kids frankly state that The Diary of a Wimpy Kid films aren't as good as the bestselling books, but that doesn't mean they don't enjoy the movies or that they won't be clamouring to see them. (Ages 7 and older) --Tami Horiuchi Review: kids loved it - having already seen and loved the first diary of a wimpy kid, this was just as big a hit as the first, i have four children (ages 10, 9, 6 and 4) and they all enjoyed it (although the 6 yr old said that in the film the boys were watching something on the tv that scared him!) the verdict from the kids was a very good, funny film. Review: Diary of a wimpy kid box set - Got these on time and in good condition and they are great films they are very funny so could not stop laughing

Great Film
My children love the books and the films don't disappoint either. Brings together a lot of typical family and childhood situations and I think the success is that we each recognise ourselves in Greg's position. Just seen 3 at the cinema and still great fun.

These are funny - even if you are old.
Saw one of these at school that one of the children had brought in at the end of school year and was laughing out loud. Most enjoyable. Will be buying more! We watched as family, all over 18 and we all enjoyed.

Diary of a wimpy kid - Rodrick rules
This film is so good and funny plus Rodrick looks hot. I would recomend this film because it suits all ages and is just great to watch as a family or by yourself.

Funnier than the first DOAWK movie
My 10 year old son is a huge Diary of a Wimpy Kid fan. This movie is (according to him) funnier than the first movie and he gave it a 5 star rating. I enjoyed watching it with him and thought it had a better storyline than the first movie. Kids who like the books will enjoy this film.

Okay for watching with the kids, but not really funny enough
An okay film for watching with the family, but it won't become a favourite. No real LOL moments... even for the kids.

Great family movie for Middle School age
My Middle School son and younger daughter really enjoyed the first movie in this series. My son has read all the books and we really enjoyed the second movie at the theatre so we pre-ordered this blu-ray and just received it today. We're all very excited to watch it as a family tonight. There may be a few bad habits for kids to pick up if, so watch for that if you're concerned and give proper guidance. However, the movie does seem to provide good, sometimes realistic lessons about family and friendship. Highly recommended.

Película sobre el libro del mismo nombre que encantan a los niños de entre 8 y 12 años. Ver la película les animará a leer la saga de libros.
