Good USB-to-Parallel Port Connection Cable
A very good solution to get old (parallel port) printers working with newer (USB) PCs. It was pretty easy to get an old HP LaserJet 4 printer set up and working on a Sony laptop running Windows Vista. One thing to note is that you may well need to change the "Port" setting to a free USB port, for the printer in Vista. This is easily done by right-clicking on the printer in Windows, selecting the Properties option, going to the Ports tab and ticking one of the boxes for an available USB port (e.g. USB005).At 1.8m this cable is a little longer than most and allows the printer to be located a reasonable distance from the laptop.Overall, this is a good value solution that has given an economical old printer a new lease of life!

Works well
It has been a while since I first installed this. I seem to remember that it was a little fiddly to find the settings when doing "Add a printer", and probably had to be done again when different USB socket used, but I think that some complications are to be expected when having a converter between different types of technology, and I am impressed that it is possible at all!

Couldn't get it to work
It came as a 1m parallel-USB converter cable and a 1m USB-USB extension, which seemed odd. Like a couple of other buyers I couldn't get it to work with my 7 year old Dell PC and an old HP Deskjet.

USB Printer converter cable 1.8m
After viewing several similar products, I found this one with a review that said it worked fine no problems, and YES it did. This enabled my son have a previously redundant printer at university for a very minimal cost. So if your looking to use an old parallel port printer on a computer with USB connection this will certainly do the job, might be a little slow sending data but if it's fast enough for an impatient 18year old it carn't be that slow.

Didn't work with LaserJet 6P despite valiant efforts from seller's support guy
If this review were just about the responsiveness of the seller trying to help me, then it would be five stars. Sadly, though, we failed. Hence the single star.In case anyone else reads this, the printer is a an HP LaserJet 6P and I'm using it with a brand new Windows 10 PC. After Googling for and trying out various solutions for similar sounding problems, the most I got from sending endless test print pages to the printer was a random character or two and a couple of page throws. It was a similar situation when I tried it with an Ubuntu PC, too. When the seller got in touch with the manufacturer the only help he received was "This device does not need a driver, is the printer driver up to date?" Well, the printer driver has been included with Windows for nearly twenty years and was working perfectly well just a couple of weeks before with an onboard parallel port with in a previous PC with EXACTLY THE SAME version of Windows. (My mistake for not noticing that the replacement PC didn't have an onboard parallel port.)I can happily accept that this USB/parallel adaptor doesn't require its own driver, but this only leaves me to conclude that the firmware in the adapter itself is buggy and doesn't cope with all the ancient printers that it might have to deal with. In the end I bought a PCI Express parallel port (internal) card from StarTech, which worked first time.

Not 1.8m long!
Not 1.8m long, despite stating this on Amazon and on the pack. About 800mm of cable. Avoid if you need the length. I kept it and used an extension cable as I was desperate to get a laser cutter working quickly.

Funciona estupendamente
Windows 7 reconoció el USB sin problemas, aunque tardó un rato. Una vez reconocido el USB identificó la impresora (una hp laserjet 4l de hace más de 10 años). La impresora va bien.
