I use this to hold up my DSLR in the gym during competitions or training and it never ever sags or droops. Very strong and works well

Unfortunately my magic arm suffered a failure at the point on one of the ends where the neck of the ball joint is fixed to the tripod mount/thumbscrew.It turns out that this is only screwed and glued in place. Once the glue gives way this can then spin freely rendering the arm useless.It is a shame as it is otherwise well machined. I would advise caution if what you are mounting is not particularly balanced and could exert a rotational force on this magic arm as you will likely suffer a similar failure. The device I mounted weighed about 1.92 kg so was well within the Max Load limits.Product was returned for a refund. SmallRig customer care is excellent so let them know of any issues👌

£38 at time of reviewI’ve loads of small rig cages, mounts and gear that I use professionally all the time, so they’re a name I trust with my expensive cameras, lights monitors etc This arm is no different, it’s as solid as a rock once attached and offers a great amount of movement, it’s perfect for my studio set up or out in the field. It’s actually lighter than I thought it would be, but still very strong, and the screw thread attachments are good and solid too.Hope my review was helpful

Another SmallRig product the Rosette Magic Arm is very good quality this is built like a tank and I have no doubt this will last for a very long time.This is not super heavy but it does have a bit of weight to it so this is something to bear in mind if you plan on using it with a gimbal etc its max payload.Rosette Magic Arm looks and feels great and all the materials/joints are well built and top quality materials.

This magic arm attaches firmly to the small cage on my camera and easily holds the weight of a field monitor firmly with no unwanted movement.The metal construction of this arm is high quality and everything feels great and locks into position firmly.The single locking mechanism is really clever, if you've not used one before it may take you by surprise that the single mech locks both ball joints as well as the elbow.The thumbscrews on the ends can be locked with an allen key for extra rigidity and security.Really nice bit of kit with a whole host of uses.

The magic arm came nicely packed. Attaching the arm was an easy process for me. Quality-wise, there are no issues.The arm attached well with no problems and gives me a lot of movement as well. Additionally, it is strong enough to hold around 2 kg easily.Flexibility, locking, and construction are all spot on.Overall, this arm is a great addition to my rig. I would definitely recommend it

Well made friction arm with rosette locking and huge key to lock. It's super heavy duty.And that's my complaint. It's super heavy. 285g heavy. Add you monitor to this, then add both to your rig and try carrying it. Heavy.If you are in a static setup on a tripod or something, great. It's a rock. If you are planning to be mobile, find a lighter option. 3-4 stars

One of the best arm with ball head I have ever seen, full metal construction and 11" of strong metal alloy. Everything is clamped down with that one big lever knob at the joint, easy to adjust when slightly tighten.Strong enough to hold up 2kg with no sliding and creeping at ball joints, impressive holding power.

Initial review:The cheaper smallrig arms work better since they don't snap in half when tightened unlike this stupid thing.Review after SMALLRIG's customer support approached me after my initial review:My unit broke at one of the ends. I mounted a projector to it (~1kg nebula capsule 3 laser). Suddenly the end with the projector mounted to it spun loose rendering my unit broken. Luckily enough SMALLRIG's customer support is amazing.They refunded me and sent a new unit. Truly remarkable!

Als Videograf, der zusammen mit meinem Kumpel einen YouTube-Kanal betreibt und eine kleine Medienagentur für Videografie besitzt, war ich gespannt auf die vielseitigen Einsatzmöglichkeiten dieses Magic Arms.Der Magic Arm ist äußerst flexibel und robust. Er ermöglicht es mir, verschiedene Geräte wie iPads, Monitore, LED-Leuchten, Smartphones und Action-Kameras sicher und stabil zu befestigen. Die 1/4"-20 Schrauben und Anti-Twist-Pins sorgen für eine zuverlässige Verbindung und verhindern ein ungewolltes Verdrehen der angebrachten Geräte.Die maximale Tragfähigkeit von 3 kg ist beeindruckend und ermöglicht es mir, auch größere Monitore oder LED-Leuchten sicher zu montieren. Der Kugelkopf bietet eine 360-Grad-Drehung und ermöglicht eine präzise Ausrichtung des montierten Equipments.Besonders beeindruckt hat mich die Qualität der Verarbeitung, die wie von SMALLRIG gewohnt einfach spitze ist. Der Magic Arm besteht aus hochwertigem Material und fühlt sich sehr stabil an. The media could not be loaded.  Un prodotto fantastico, costoso ma secondo il mio avviso super ricercato ed in definitiva vale i soldi che costa.Il prodotto arriva confezionato all'interno di una scatola in cartone nella quale troveremo l'oggetto avvolto all'interno di una plastica a bolle. Una volta estratto il prodotto potremo ammirarne subito la bellezza partendo dai materiali e dalla ricercatezza delle bielle realizzate in maniera innovativa e super bella, anche i materiali utilizzati sono veramente molto interessanti e di colori sono strepitosi.Ultima particolarità che mi ha fatto innamorare di questo dispositivo sono inoltre i sistemi di aggancio che grazie ai due perni retraibili permettono di ancorarsi saldamente ed evitare le disconnessioni che potrebbero avvenire a causa del momento generato.In definitiva è un prodotto che mi sento di consigliare a chiunque vista l'estrema qualità del prodotto in questione, come detto in precedenza il prezzo non è sicuramente dei più bassi ma di certo tenendolo tra le mani potrete rendervi tranquillamente conto della sua bontà.

Erst dachte ich, dass es sich hierbei um einen Verschluss für eine Arri Rosette handelt und war dann etwas überrascht, als beide Verschlüsse für 1/4 Zoll Gewinde ausgelegt waren. Da das aber auf meine Kappe geht, weil ich einfach beim Bestellen nicht richtig hingeguckt habe, kann ich das natürlich nur mir selbst ankreiden.Zuerst war ich skeptisch, ob die 1/4 Schrauben mit den zwei Sicherheitspins fest halten würden und sich am Ende nicht doch etwa verdrehen ließen.Diese Sorge war aber nach dem Ausprobieren schnell verflogen, denn hier hält alles irre stabil und verwindungssicher. Allerdings muss man hierfür die Verschlüsse mit einem Inbus oder dünnen Schraubendreher wirklich fest anziehen!Dann hält der Arm auch an Gewinden, die keine Aufnahme für die zusätzlichen Sicherheitspins haben. Natürlich hilft es der Festigkeit der Verbindungen aber, wenn diese Aufnahmen am Gerät vorhanden sind!An meinem Top Handle habe ich zB keine solche Aufnahmen und fest angezogen hält der Arm trotzdem so bomensicher, dass ich die ganze Kamera außen an ihm festhalten kann! Toll.Natürlich sind knapp 45 Euro hierfür kein Pappenstil, aber ich finde die Qualität rechtfertigt den Preis absolut!Arri Anschlüsse mit Pins hätte ich zwar trotzem besser gefunden, richtig fest angezogen halten aber auch die 1/4 Anschlüsse wahnsinnig gut und verlässlich!Kurz: Wirklich toller Arm, der hohe Montageflexibilität und Stabilität vereint. Bedingungslos empfehlenswert!
