Magflap in Satin Silver Finish

We have a north facing front door and have gone through several useless brush type draught excluders for the letterbox. Have just installed this and I must say it's excellent. No draught whatsoever. Completely sealed! For the first time ever! Easy to fit and the company have been excellent. I had to request a plastic riser as the letter slot in the door is quite deep. It arrived free of charge 2 days later following good and helpful correspondence with the seller. I hope it lasts! Simple to fit and snaps shut with a draught sealed all round magnet. Really clever. No more whistling draughts and also blocks out some noise from the street. Would highly recommend.UPDATE. 6 years later and still as good as new.

The idea is very good, the flap is magnetic and once closed, it seals the area completely. Unfortunately the flap never actually closes.1. The "hinge" of the flap (probably for want of cutting corners) is made of thin plastic, not an actual spring or metal sleeve hinge. As a result it is easy to see it will wear out very soon with the weight of the flap and constant use. Such a poor hinge in a product such as this is ridiculous.2. If you leave the flap alone (see first pic) it never closes, just goes near to closing and then stops. Of course this completely defeats the purpose of the "draught sealing" letterbox. You need to keep checking each time the postman ahs been, and go up to the door and manually close it (push it the last few degrees). This is not helped by the bad design of the magnets. Rather than pulling it shut, as you get near to closing and about 5 degrees open, the magnets actually REPEL a little bit, and a bit more pushing and they attract.The "pushing away" zone of the magnets coupled with the fact the flap doesn't close under it's own weight makes this a pretty useless product for £20.

This works very well at preventing drafts from the letterbox, but does seems quite stiff. It needs a fair push in order for the magnets to seperate - we've had a couple of letters mushed from being stuck behind it.Not a huge suprise, but it does look very plasticy. It goes well with brass door furnishings in terms of colour, but the texture really stands out.Overall, not a bad purchase.

The Mag flap is an impressive unit, looking to be well designed and manufacture to the highest standards.Some of the design details are very modern. Fitting the unit was very easy, and on the inside of my front door fitted perfectly. The Magflap operated and sealed the post aperture perfectly every time.I have one small concern and that is in the hinge, only time will tell how well this will hold out under operational conditions.

Very effective draft excluder. But: very large, unattractive shade of gold & looks very 'plastic'. Also postman has difficult in getting it to open for single letters.

This Letterbox is the best (and it's BRITISH made👍, makes a change), have it fixed on exterior of the door - very easy, very snug when attached and post coming through easy, NO MORE DRAUGHTS!! tried all these different letterboxes all fall apart or rust up and let in water, still early but will see how this product lasts.Well I added this comment early 2016.About 1 YEAR and 3 MONTHS in July 2017 it fell apart, the flap come apart from the main body just before I was going on holiday so had to replace it, thought it was hinged at the top but it's just metal that flexes.

I have fitted this product to an outside wall that is flat other than the mortor between the bricks and this is Manufactured out of cheap plastic that will bend causing it not to seal which can be got around if you just nip the screws instead of tightening but this causes a poor seal to the surface you are trying to seal against the next fault is the hinge is not a hinge it is just a bent plastic which didn't appear to be that big of an issue till the flap is opened up all the way then the flap will not fall back into place even with the magnets... all in all a great idea very poorly manufactured

Very good product, it does the job with keeping the drafts out and I have noticed a change in temperature already in the vicinity. The product needs to fit completely 'flushed' to the door, therefore the part of the letterbox on the inside needs to be removed. The product can fit a variety of sizes of letterboxes in my experience of having ordered two MAGFLAPS. The magnets are doing their job of closing the lid shut. The screws are attached and reasonably easy to assembly and fit. The golden colour looks good also. Thank you MAGFLAP and Amazon.

Installed this cover on the inside of my brass mail slot that was drafty and cols in the winter in N.Y. Thing worked great had to drill and tap the brass frame on the inside of the door but well worth the work. No more drafts magnets shut tight. Only suggestion would be to design a metal hinge. Thank You

Très belle finition pour cette fente de boîte aux lettres. Placée a l'intérieur pour ma part, elle isole parfaitement . Très facile à monter
