Very Sturdy - The Uno Threads worked perfectly on my antique floor lamp.
I've had an antique floor lamp for many years that holds a single downfacing bulb. It never had a shade, but I have tried several shades for it over the years - but nothing was ever right. This lamp was from some distant relative, and I didn't know what kind of shade it had when it was new. It never had a shade even when my parents had it. Anyway, I was looking at it recently and noticed the threads on the socket - and thought I would try to do some research on those. In my research, I discovered Uno sockets and how they can be used with glass shades with a 2 1/4 inch fitter with an appropriate shade holder. Anyway, many of them didn't have threads - but looking at the picture of this shade holder I thought it might work. I know there is another review that said this didn't hold a 2 1/4 inch shade - but it absolutely does. I bought my glass shade from a local hardware store and I really like how it looks. The shade did have to have a lip on the top to work with this shade holder - but I could see that was going to be the case just by looking at it. In the end, the floor lamp looks beautiful and since I got the shade on it, my daughter said she wants it. (It had been sitting in my office virtually unused for a long time). I'm very happy.

Uno Fitter Shade Holder
I have been looking for a shade for my antique downbridge lamp. While shopping for a fabric shade for the lamp, this uno fitter shade holder popped up in my search. This is exactly the perfect item to compliment my vintage lamp. This shade holder is very sturdy and comes in a variety of colors and it fit perfectly on my uno light socket. My husband had painted my lamp antique bronze. I selected the antique bronze uno fitter shade holder and the color blends beautifully with my lamp. I purchased my glass shade at Lowes and was able to come up with a solution for a lamp shade for less than $20! Now my lamp is complete and I am very pleased with my lamp. It is beautiful!

Works well
We bought a reproduction Tiffany lamp shade for an antique lamp we had. This helped us further shade well. The material so not plastic, it’s metal so it matched well. It was easy to install on the lamp and shade. The cost was good and worth it. Although it’s not a 100% perfect fit, we are happy with it.

Good product
I was dubious at first. I thought it would have it's issues but I decided to take a chance anyway. It's been a full year of using this on my antique floor lamp. No problems so far! It's durable, solid, not flimsy at all. Definitely recommend.

Superb replacement for three point ring.
I needed a replacement for a lost three point lampshade ring that fits over a plain socket. This product works better! While the socket is not threaded, with little force the threads of this ring cut into the smooth plastic well enough to seat the ring firmly. The original ring did not take in the whole bent end of the wires, and it only rested in place, so it rocked and twisted as well (Photo 1 -- of another lamp), thus failing to hold the wires. But the wires of the shade fit all the way perfectly into the screw holes of this ring, thus go nowhere because the ring goes nowhere and holds them entirely (Photo 2). With the extra size I bent the wires inward to create spring action when spread, further firming the hold. The same done for the original ring helped infinitesimally and with difficulty because the "Holes" are tubular, requiring a more precise entry, limiting the amount of bow I could add to the wires. I have bought a second to replace the ring present on the mate (Photo 1) of the first lamp. As I have the first lamp overhead of my head in at the head of the bed, the viual is quite pretty with the pretty side down. The other will be seen from above, with the pretty side up.

Impossible to screw into a lamp fixture and does not sercurely hold a glass lamp shade.

Amazing quality. This is the part you need for holding a lampshade to a socket! Was perfect for my 1900s Bridge Lamp.
