Will this work on 1-7/8" od --- 1-1/2" id plastic pipe?

This is for 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 pipe which are 1.66 and 1.9 inch od.

Will this fit over schedule 40 pvc?

This product fits over 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 pipe regardless of schedule/wall thickness.

Will this work on 1.5" black abs pipe?

Yes but it may be difficult piercing the hole. If you can measure the diameter of the piercing portion, you can use a drill that size to make a hole in the pipe first.
