I don't normally write reviews, but I think it important to warn others away from this purchase. The tool is of "junk" quality. The 1.25" die stripped on the first use. The die was incapable of cutting galvanized steel. It is unfortunate that there aren't many options for the do-it-yourselfer, as the next option is the RIGID set for ~$450. I would strongly suggest anyone thinking about this purchase bite the bullet and contact their local tool rental shop for a solution, as this product is simply a collection of scrap metal.

After the die broke, but before the ratchet broke.
Well first of all, I purchased a new item, but when I got it I couldn't help but to think that everything looked like it had been used before, like what I actually received was some kind of refurbished or used and returned item. I didn't have time to send it back and wait for a replacement, so I just went on and used it. I was in need of a 1" die and ratchet to thread a few pipes. I generally follow a "never buy cheap tools" rule, but I made an exception and bought this because I just had a little bit of work to do and likely won't need to thread any pipe again for a long time. Long story short, after threading about 6 pipes, the screws that hold the plastic ring in place, that hold all of the teeth in place on the die stripped - all of them. Needless to say, my pipe end was ruined and the die was now scrap. I went to remove the 1" die from the ratchet, and in the process, broke about all of the plastic components of the ratchet. In the end, I went to Home Depot and bought a real die and ratchet.

Not a bad tool for the price
Not a bad tool for the price. It isn't a $300 tool. For the price it performed great. Use plenty of oil for threads to cut correctly. Cut 15 threads on 1/2 pipe, just fine, with minor thread buggering.
