Easy to install, does the job
So, this fits an 'Ideal Standard' cistern and is also known as an 'x type' fitting - I now know this as I originally ordered a different one which didn't fit my cistern. 'Ideal standard' cisterns have a different size hole!!Anyway, this is reasonably priced, easy to fit and looks quite nice too.

Simple swap out for existing (Ideal) handle
My cisterns use a small-hole (Ideal) cistern handle so this seemed ideal.PROs------It was a simple swap-out for the existing handles on my two loos. On one of them I had to use the white plastic lever as the existing one didn't want to play nicely with the replacement, as it was too short. On the other one it was a perfect replacement so I didn't need to use the white plastic lever. The diameter of the spindle was just right for the Ideal cistern. So-called "universal replacements" don't work with the smaller bore Ideal cisterns (yes, you've probably worked out how I found this out).CONs--------None that I can think of.TIP----When fitting a new handle like this, smear some Vaseline on, over and all round the screw that holds the white plastic lever to the square rod; it makes it child's play to remove it several years later. Without the Vaseline the screw often rusts so badly you can't get a screwdriver in the Pozidrive hole any more.---[If you found this review helpful please up-vote; if you didn't then don't down-vote - leave a comment to help me improve this and future reviews]

Usable for narrow toilet handle holes
The narrow plastic screw meant it was the only handle that fit my toilet. The previous one had been filed down to fit, so the nut hadn’t been screwed on and it flopped all over the place. This one though is a perfect fit, took seconds to install, and looks like it will last.

For an Ideal Standard Cistern: Fits - but a bit loose.
This was to replace the original toilet lever on a 25-year old Ideal Standard cistern that had basically rotted due to limescale.I had already bought one from the local DIY store which has a bore too large to go through the hole in the porcelain.Saw this one which said it fitted the narrower Ideal Standard bore of 3/8 in.It arrived as scheduled via Post Office. It does fit but even after tightening up the nylon screw onto the nylon shank inside the cistern, the metal shaft of the lever "rattles" loosely inside the nylon shank.I works, but hasn't the same quality feel of the original. So, I'll just have to go to the local plumber's merchant and try to get a genuine part, which will undoubtedly be more expensive. But you get what you pay for, I suppose.

Nice clean replacement for a broken lever

Needed some bodging to make it fit, but OK now.
Seems good so far. The nylon barrel was a lot narrower than the small hole in the cistern where this was fitted, so I wrapped some trimmed-down insulation tape around it to make it thicker. It seems to work well. The nylon arm looks weak and I don't expect it to last indefinitely, but the key thing here is a narrow-barrel cistern handle for under £6. You can get a replacement arm from anywhere.

Yes, this is a 3/8 inch and fits Ideal Standard!
I tried 7 different toilet handles from local shops, B&Q, and Amazon. 2 on Amazon were listed as 3/8 inch, but this was the only one that actually was. If you need to replace the handle on an Ideal Standard BIY THIS ONE.

Awful replacement 😩
Easy to fit but the amount of play from the handle through the nylon bush is about 5mm! Similar to stirring a bucket of porridge.would not recommend!
