Neptune Systems AquaController Apex Jr. with Display, Temp Probe by Neptune Systems

Received non working unit. The display screen would not produce any images or text. It would light up, but no images or any text. The green led was lit, and I noticed while plugging in the display that the light would blink. I wiggled the USB plug end of the display while plugged in and the led would turn on and off. After a couple wiggles the light went off for good. Never got anything to work on the unit. I sent the unit back for a refund.

Received a used/damaged unit with pristine packaging and security tape intact. Power bar had been mounted before and two of the screws had drywall dust in the threads. I thought this seemed odd but I went about hooking it up anyway thinking they might test these at the factory. I got everything hooked up and took the paper off the display screen and it was cracked and just showed a blue screen. Upon further inspection I could see scratches on the backside of the display from where someone had mounted it before. Posted on the Neptune forum and was given a canned response about how they don't sell or repackage used or refurbished products. That means someone else is going through a lot of trouble to repackage these and is using the exact same boxes and security tape as Neptune. I watched an unboxing of a new unit and there were stickers on the power bar that my unit did not have, so they're are doing a poor job at disguising this dishonesty. Draw your own conclusions. I really wanted to like this and already have Neptune's atk but I will never buy another product from them ever again.

Best on the Market. Wish I would have went with the larger unit (Gold). This has a limit to how many devices you can connect. Even though the devices/products claim you can daisy chain them, you are limited with the JR. Great for thos that travel like me to manage their aquarium remotely.

Really lIke the Internet based capability, little glitchy on firmware update, stopped working, but phone support from Neptune did great job and got it working again. Appeals to my tech side of the hobby. Using for hi-tech planted tank.

Love the apex controllers. It is nice to have the peace of mind for not overflowing the tank; having the ato shut off if the sumo level gets too high, back up control for heater temps running away, andI have already maxed out this system, and will be upgrading to a full apex. The good news it this item holds its value. You can almost make all your money back on eBay... However I will be keeping this for a 30gl system.
