The author covers the history of muslin in both India and Europe as well as changes in technology and the dynamics and impact of trade. I especially appreciated the detailed descriptions of the many photographs of the different types of muslin. Another great book offering substantive information in my personal studies in textile history.

An interesting book which gives an insight into the history, development and usage of muslin. A book to dip into even if most people would not read it all in one go. Useful for students of textiles.

Have not explored book yet. Illustrations impressive but only the briefest description of each item.No index. Would like more information on the British makers, e.g. Brown Sharps and Co.

I love the white on white embroidery, it's history is traced and the clothes are stunning, this is a beautifully illustrated book.
