GERMAN PLANES Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4

I got this ME109 E-4 as part of the Battle of Britain diecast set and I have to say I like it very much, it sits prouds on my computer table alongside the Spitfire Mk1 that came with it in my set (you can get it separately). The model is nively detailed and doesnt come with all the unsightly seams that you get in some models these days and the paint job is very well done. Shame the prop doesnt move though but it comes with a really nice stand to make up for it. Looking for a Hurricane and a Stuka now.

beautiful model !!unfortunately ours arrived damaged, cracks to rear, but wasn't noticed (box looked ok) for some months, as stored away by me for my husband's birthday, too late to report now, disappointed :-(

A typical offering from Oxford- a decent quality model at an affordable price. As for the curious and highly inaccurate "step" (see other review on this model) where the engine cowling joins to the fuselage, this can be rectified quite easily.How? - Remove the screws from the fuselage bottom and detach the lower fuselage portion from the upper. The one-piece plastic cowling can be pulled from its pin mounting. Simply file off a couple of millimetres of plastic from around the pin insertion hole then reattach to the fuselage. The upper surfaces of both cowling and fuselage should now be flush with each other- problem solved!
