Ordered book as my sister had found it on line. It was a book I had as a child and dearly loved but it had got lost over the years. It was a blast from the past and just as good as I remembered it. The illustrations are wonderful. It will be treasured by me and shared with my grandchildren so they can love it as much as I did. Great variety of poems to please all.

Childhood favorite.
I still have the 1970 version of this book and happily nothing has changed. Such a lovely collection of poems some extracts some entire.Wonderful illustrations. My personal favourite which I still know by heart is "I eat my peas with honey" I eat my peas with honey I've done it all my life They do taste kind of funny But it keeps them on my knife. I would like to buy this book for every child in my family. Absolutely recommended.

This book is magic. You can feel the magic through the words and the illustrations, and as you turn the pages. Some words may be difficult to understand for younger children, but it just adds to the magic. Both my 5 yo and my 3 yo love it - and I do too.

Fantastic book for children and adults
Bought as a christmas present for my 4 year old, she loves the beautiful poems and pictures, me and my husband enjoy reading it just as much as she does. The poems are suitable for all ages and it feels like a present that will stay with us for a long time- not like the glitzy plastic toys that have lost their attraction a week on.

The original publications was larger in size but this is still a lovely book with some beautiful pictures? All children will love it

A wonderful book which I would recommend for children aged 4 - 11. Beautifully illustrated with some truly lovely poems. I had this exact version over 39 years ago when I was a child so it's a marvellous trip down memory lane reading it in turn to my own children. I would definitely recommend it.
