Every now and then I count the quantity of my purchases, because I have been given less than the quantity described. Today was no different-only got 28, instead of 30. Not happy. Hoping for quality.

Since I was originally diagnosed with IBS back in the mid-1980s (which was actually one of the better outcomes given my symptoms at the time) I need to take a probiotic supplement and psyllium fiber capsules daily. I can tell when a probiotic doesn't actually work or doesn't work very well about a week after switching to it. I've gone through the entire bottle of Life-Space Double Strength Probiotic and it definitely works well. This comes in a glass bottle instead of plastic which is becoming much more common with non-drug store-brand supplements. A couple of years ago an industry insider admitted that the recycling program touted by the plastics industry for the past 15-20 years was actually nothing more than public relations and that the large-scale recycling of plastic is actually too expensive to be practical. Plastic is not biodegradable so it inevitably ends up in landfills. It's also made with chemicals that sometimes find their way into the soil or water supply of the areas where plastic factories are located. Glass is a far preferable material although drug stores are understandably reluctant to make that switch since their business model relies heavily on generating foot traffic and they would probably be sweeping up broken glass in the aisles a half dozen times a day. Life-Space Double Strength probiotic includes 64 Billion CFU (culture forming units) which is a preferable measurement to the total bacteria count since the latter number will always be much higher and include dead bacteria that will do absolutely nothing inside your gut. There are different 15 strains of bacteria and at least some variety is good because it's more likely to be effective than a probiotic with only one or two bacteria strains. The only potential issue with this Life-Space Probiotic is the cost--at $37.99 for a 30-day supply, this is on the pricier side although you can easily get probiotics off-the-shelf at the drug store for roughly the same price. For many people (doctors generally believe most people) probiotics are little more than a placebo because healthy people usually have enough bacteria in their gut naturally to properly digest food. I actually do need to take a probiotic daily but I've always found that cheaper drug store brand probiotics work as well for me as the more expensive probiotics with gaudy numbers on their labels. When you add in the fact that the drug store chain I frequent pretty much has supplements on sale 365 days a year I can get a probiotic that works just as well for me for about half the price of this Life-Space product. I'm on a tight budget and everyone doesn't need to pinch their pennies so if price isn't a major factor Life-Space Double Strength Probiotic is an excellent product. The use of a CFU number rather than total bacterial count is good, the fact that this contains a variety of bacteria strains is also good (you want a probiotic that includes at least 3-4 different strains of bacteria unless your doctor has prescribed or suggested something specific), and the glass bottle used here is far preferable to plastic unless you're prone to dropping your supplement or prescription bottles. I need to keep my spending down but if I could afford to buy this every month I probably would.

Review of: **Life-Space Double Strength Probiotic Supplement for Adults, 64 Billion CFU & 15 Strains Probiotics, Including 8 Billion CFU Lactobacillus Rhamnosus GG for Digestive and Immune Support - 30 Capsules** The Good: -Terrific 15 strain probiotic with 64B CFU in a single capsule -Comes in a real glass pill bottle -Reputable supplement company out of Australia The Bad: -Cap on my bottle arrived cracked -Bottle was not even half full - it does appear to have the correct quantity (30), but it's frustrating to see the wasted space in the bottle -Quite expensive at over $1.35 per single capsule The Bottom Line: I believe this is a really top quality probiotic, but the price is a bit of a concern. I had similar results using this as I have with other lower cost probiotics and thus would probably only purchase this in the future if they offered it at a lower price, possibly in a 60 or 90-count size. A 60-count bottle for $50 would be a much more reasonable proposition.

I have been using probiotics lately to try to rebuild my gut flora and this one seems to work just as good if not better. I like it contains a wide diversity of probiotic strains and a generous CFU count. It even has some additional strains not found in my current probiotics. The capsules themselves are relatively small and easy to take. You only need one capsule per day which is convenient to do. I feel generally good after taking it and no noticeable side effects so far. This comes in a glass bottle with a seal under the plastic-wrapped lid. It is about half full and contains some blue plastic cylinders which I assume are desiccants. My bottle has a best before date of about 19 months from now. Overall, I like this probiotic supplement a lot. It is easy to take and works well. On the minus side, it costs a lot more than my current probiotics for the same 30-day supply. I hope that the wider diversity of probiotic strains would help better. Anyhow, a good product, albeit a little pricey.
