Must have
I have been listening to this album for more than 20 years, first on tape (from LP), then on a CD-copy and now it was time to contribute to Mick and Keith's pension plan and buy the official CD, that is the remastered version.Frankly, I value vinyl over CD and I can't hear the difference between the old Dolby recording on good old TDK SA-X and this CD. Not that it matters. There are only 8 songs on the album, but quality rules over quantity. Some Girls might have been in the spot light recently, but every single piece on this album is worth buying. Hot Stuff has a touch of disco, but it's rougher. Hand Of Fate is the unknown classic with a solo by Wayne Perkins that should have merited more contributions. Cherry oh Baby is rasta Keith at his best. Unpolished, simple and pure. Memory Hotel has great lyrics. Mick's voice was great before he needed a vocal coach. No crooning, just singing. The guitars on Hey Negrita are something. Steaming, hurling, leading the rhythm section. Mick keeps on grumbling. I love it. Melody is jazzy tune where the guitars are left behind. No need.Fool to cry, classic Stones ballad. Crazy mama: not my favourite, but it doesn't matter, this album is in my top 10.

Another great remaster
I will keep this one short. I thought this was a vastly superior sounding album in the first instance and it would be hard to improve on in comparison to It's Only Rock and Roll and Goats Head Soup, I was wrong. As a friend of mine put it, it sounds less like a recording of a musical event and more like you are in there at the event. The same improvements that are so noticeable in the other three discs released in this first batch are here as well. Better bass definition, better instrument separation, bigger sound stage, great percussion, more realism, clearer vocals, more apparent emotion in all Jagger sings and so on till the cows come home. This is not day and night better, but an improvement that makes listening to the reissues end to end an unalloyed pleasure for this Stones fan.Top marks for the sonic improvement, zip for the artwork-which is almost as basic as it gets. Universal had warned us of this hands off approach when they suggested that they were going to "celebrate" the albums as they were originally available. Hmmmmm!

Good Price
Bought as a present so I can't comment on the content. Delivery was a few days later than predicted, but the price was the best I could find and the packaging was good.

'Fool To Cry' is one of the worst songs they ever recorded
'Fool To Cry' is one of the worst songs they ever recorded. 'Melody' is also a bit naff. The rest are pretty good. 'Hey Negrita' and 'Memory Motel' are the best tracks, I think.
