Indigo that gives superior black instantly. Only mix with water and apply. You will be blown away with the quality of this indigo. There is a reason why we are the most expensive.

Safe and does work to some degree
Wife says that I look like a chia pet when I first put this on and before washing it out.So, I have used this for about a month now and before I started using it, I read all the reviews for tips. Cleaning your beard / hair is important and using a sulfate free shampoo. I mix this with hot coffee and a few drops of vinegar as one writer suggested. I also add about 1/3 indigo to reduce the reddish tint as some have said would occur. I tried 50:50 one time and it was too much indigo and had a bit of a purple tint. So keeping to 1:3 ratio is important. Also, suggest having it in your hair for 60 to 90 minutes before washing out. Do not use soap to clean it out. Just take a shower and let the water wash it out. I did this for multiple days in a row and made a big difference by third application. For some reason, its not a 100% on my beard but does do well on my hair. If you don't wash with harsh shampoo, it should last awhile.JFM might be easier and better coverage but I think JFM is dangerous to your health.

Something changed and customer service is non-responsive
I am really at my wits end with henna hut :( I have tried for almost two years to be happy with their products - but I have not been satisfied with since some time in 2012 (or 11?) when something changed with the formula.I used to use the dark brown with great results. When that stopped working I went back to "regular" health store hair color for about 3 dyes - then came back to henna hut because I really don't like using the store bought dyes! I even decided to go with the two step process - henna first, then indigo. The henna provided okay (ish) results and the indigo seemed to darken it - until the first wash- a full week later, no poo, conditioner only - all the indigo came out and most of the henna. sigh. For now I have found a better alternative at my local indian grocery. Pure henna, finely ground, for $2.29 per 150 grams! Yes, my grays are orange, but at least it WORKS and the dye is permanent. Now I will be looking for another indigo supplier as well.

I love my indigo!
I have been looking for an alternative to chemical hair dyes, as those have been linked to cancer. At first, I was very, very, skeptical. However, indigo works wonders for my black hair. And I don't have to worry about toxic chemicals anymore. I do the two-step process: I mix natural henna power with lemon juice and a small amount of warm water (in order to obtain maximum dye release, henna powder needs to be mixed with an acidic substance such as lemon). Then I let that sit for 24 hours. Or longer. The next day, I make sure the mix has the consistency of yogurt (I had lemon juice as needed to achieve that), and I apply it, cover it with a plastic shower cap, then keep it on for as long as I can. Then, I wash it, mix my indigo power to the same consistency, using warm water, and IMMEDIATELY apply my indigo (indigo should not sit). And voilà ! Dark brown hair.... No toxic PPD or resorcinol. Also: since I have short hair and each package contains generous amounts of powder, I freeze any unused portion of my indigo/henna paste for next time.

Just because it's natural doesn't make it work well
I followed the directions carefully, and my strand test was fine. As it turns out, while my allergy test was good, on my scalp I still had a mild allergy (redness, swelling, and itching), The color was okay, but it didn't last long for me at all, so definitely not worth it. I do have about 50% gray hair.

Make sure you follow the directions
This product works, just make sure you follow the directions! If you want your hair black (facial hair) then you do need to use both as directed. When it fades it is not that bad, you just have to know when you think it will, for me I use it every third day, it doesn't tear your skin up like just for men. This stuff is messy but you can get around that, don't get cologne or shampoo on it or else it can either wash off or change colors on you, but if you are looking for a good product this stuff works! Get it!

My go to brand for years. Best quality henna and indigo.
I mix this with a little bit of the brown, dark brown or burgundy from this brand to get almost black hair and I love it! I mix it up(the spectrum of browns and reds) and thought this would be a fun thing to try just to add more darkness without so much red/orange from the henna. I love it. Best brand ever!
