Simple DIY Kit
So when I received it, the thermometer was broken at the bottom; that being said I didn’t feel the need to return it cuz of one easily replaceable item- the pot has a small dent in it but it’s at the top part and it still stands correctly- Everything else checks out to be correct and ‘dent’ free xD for beginners I only put three stars cuz there’s no instructions included- if you’re willing to give this a whirl you have to know basic candle making instructions elsewhere beforehand... all in all it’s a good buy for small candle making I would say, 8-12 oz of candle wax is the limit I would use for this pitcher - the handle gets a bit heated but safety is always a good thing to practice beforehand -I haven’t used the dye yet so I can’t truthfully review on that item- all in all, it’s a nice way for beginners to start out and then later on I would graduate to something more advanced :)***Edit: I found some directions- basically tells you the safety of making candles and provides advice on temps and scents of waxes/candle making *** my bad*** lol

Ok starter kit, novice should use one pour soy wax and not what comes with this....less user error
Cute kit for the price. I didnt want to use molds, so I poured into a container. There are some restrictions in candle making and its not as simple as just heating and pouring into a glass.....so I found out. Candle looked good when poured, but pulled away from the wick as it cooled. After a little internet reseach, I bought 'one pour' C4 soy wax and a few soy oil scents. Candles turned out great, so much so I made my family and friends each one for xmas. This was a great starter kit, but the only thing I used was the pouring pot. You are probably better off buying what you want individually, and it wont cost you much more.

The container was the only thing I needed
I use the candlemaking kit to recycle some large old pillar candles that burned in the middle and were useless. Did not use the candle wax pellets that came with the kit. The pot works very well as a double boiler inside a large pot of water that I used. Size was perfect. I didn't really need the thermometer when I actually started melting wax . I bought a package of Wicks separately from this kit as I ended up with about 50 containerized candles that were made primarily from a bunch of old candles I couldn't use anymore. I would highly recommend putting paper down on your counter safely away from the oven or stove and put the paper on the floor as well because the candle wax if it's platters or drips is a pain in the neck to remove.

Great but missing color block
I bought this kit to see how I'd like making candles. I absolutely love the kit and I can reuse the pot, the votive cups and the thermometer. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. It also has everything you need to make the candles. The only thing my kit was mission that said was supposed to be included was a color block. I didn't mind it but others may want it. I really enjoyed making the candles and a definetly plan to make more!

Good for a cheap start but i would get a bigger one!
The kit is good for getting started. This kit makes about 6 votives. I got an orange color cube but ended up using a red crayon to match the scent (scent sold separately). Glad I ordered extra supplies. I really enjoyed making the candles and this kit gets me off to a good start. If you think you will like making candles I would spend the money on a larger kit with more wax and holders. I was looking for something cheap to get me started and this was good to start. I like it though and I'm glad I thought ahead and ordered extra wax and wicks!!

great customer service
I ordered this kit and when it came , the wax was spilled into the packaging. I normally don't leave reviews or attempt to deal with contacting sellers about problems unless it's a really expensive item and I just can't use it at all, so I didn't do anything about it at first. Then I decided to leave feedback because I got an email from amazon asking me to. Candlewic contacted me almost immediately wanting to resolve the problem. They offered to send me more wax, or to refund the shipping. When I emailed back that I'd prefer the refund of shipping, that was taken care of within 12 hours!I am very impressed with their customer service and their timely response. The kit is exactly what I've been wanting and I can't wait to get started making some candles!

Good price, Lots of tools
All the tools I needed to start a candle making hobby for a great price. Thermometer is encased in glass and clips easily to the pouring pot. The moulds are plastic and work wonderfully. Scent is great. One problem I have is that the pot falls over when I place it in water (to create a double boiler for the wax), not sure how to fix this but a heads up for anyone who is using this product.

Made 4 small mason jar candles; they burn.
Straightforward to use. Mine came with 3 metal votive molds, not the plastic ones shown (I don't care either way, although I did cut myself on the votive mold; I should probably sand the edges so I don't do that again). The pound of flakes made 4 very full 4oz mason jar candles and about 2/3 of a votive. Instructions were in French and English. I used clothespins across the top of the votive molds and my mason jars to help keep the wick upright and centered. We are burning the mason jar candles now, and they work fine and look very clean.
