Amazing album

they have really lost their edge, maybe too much soy? their return in 2005 with potemkin.. was such a massive inspiration to start taking my music seriously (we're now signed) and then supporting caste came out and it was one of the most amazing things I'd ever heard, then failed states came out and it had its moments but it was nowhere near upto supporting caste but that was okay, I never expected anything to rival that but with this album! what a let down! previously they had a guitarist who would do different things to C. Hannah which gave them so much more dimension but it really sounds like Chris just tracked the guitars himself and didn't bother with the variations.can't really fault the mixing but overall they have just gone slow and predictable, songs about cops, the president, race, most probably misogyny and to be honest, I gave up focusing on the lyrics after a while because it was all just everything the mainstream has been saying for the last 4 years and Chris just didn't sound passionate about any of it - it seemed like he was clocking in and putting an album out.if you like it then cool, but for me; they are a band that I've come to expect high standards from and this didn't even come close to meeting them.

Propagandhi have spent many years playing and recording, shifting in sound and approach from their earliest to their more recent releases. There's not a single thing to complain about with their music up until this album but I can't help feeling that *Victory Lap* represents a compositional and performance peak. The arrival of Sulynn Hago seems to have prompted a of step forward in the band's development where each member's contribution within the whole has become more distinct while the combined energy of the ensemble has grown more intense. The songwriting is as melodic and high-octane as ever but also probably more adventurous than it's ever been. "Failed Imagineer", among others, is a stand-out track. The vinyl pressing is of good quality and I've noticed no problems with tracking or surface noise on my system. It includes a bundled download of MP3 files for portability and convenience.

Tolle Scheibe, richtig schöner Hardrock. Ich höre gerne Dream Theater und wer das mag, mag auch diese Scheibe. Auch als Vinyl zu empfehlen, saubere Scheibe, gut zentriert und plan mit gutem Sound.

Glad to strike this off my must have list and man is it smokin! As always Propagandhi makes you think while you rock out. Brilliant lyrics and a tight band. What more do you need?
