This is perfect but I ordered the wrong size - My error!!

Its a one-way valve !
Be aware this coupling has a non-return flap in it which, at time of reviewing, is not stated in the description. However, it is easy to remove. It just explains why it's more expensive than a plain coupling, which you can get elsewhere much cheaper. I was just in a hurry, and it did arrive quickly. It does function as a joint piece with the flap removed.

This does not fit a 5" hose for air conditioning as advertised.
Actually being sold with a hose that it does not fit.This is advertised by amazon as 'frequently bought together'.I guess the part the forgot to mention is 'frequently returned together' and 'buy this if you want to waste your time'.

Was suggested by amazon but doesn’t fit.
Bought one at amazons suggestion to join two 5” heat pipes and it doesn’t fit.
