I was hoping for smaller eyes, but these worked out just fine. Candy eyes are fun, but when the black dot is in the center, your "character" looks a little crazy! I bought edible markers and did some creative work, adding eyelids and/or lashes to give the eyes a bit more personality. (see pic) I glued them on with edible glue and they were very durable. I was happy with the overall outcome. I did not taste them, but they're very hard and I'd suggest being careful if you're going to eat them or give them to children, who might break a tooth! I would buy them again. OH-and the tweezers that came with? Fantastic! I didn't realize how much I would need them! They were SO helpful when I placed the eyes and sprinkle whiskers (yes, I placed the little sprinkles one by one, and those tweezers made that possible!!). I am giving this 5 stars for that reason. GREAT buy, because of those amazing tweezers!!

These candy eyes are a good size for decorating sugar cutout cookies. They are domed and give a fun 3D look to the cookie. They are a little smaller than the original M&M. They are a bit hard for a soft cookie decoration. I would say they are similar hardness to sweetarts (don't confuse the softer smarties). The taste is plain sugar candy. My kids liked them. The come with a pair of tweezers for fine placement, but due to their size they are not difficult to pickup by hand. Overall these are fun candies for decorating, but depending on what you are using it for they may be too hard for some applications.
