Lyman 4-Piece Roll Pin Punch Set, Steel

I made the mistake of buying some cheap roll pin punches on another website. They bent easily and were thicker than the stated size, making it difficult to work on my build (it actually got stuck and had to be forcibly removed using other tools). I bought these Lyman roll pin punches to replace the cheaper inaccurate tools I initially bought. The Lyman roll pin punches were TRUE to the stated size and have not yet bent as they are very strong and well made. I can tell that these are much better quality both visually and while handling them compared to the cheap punches I initially bought. Don't make the same mistake I did. Buy quality punches like these Lyman roll pin punches from the get go and save yourself the wasted money, time, and loss of sanity. From the research I've done, Lyman appears to make quality products. They are precision, well-built tools, and I highly recommend them.

I bought these for AR builds and other uses. They work fine and are inexpensive

They’re good punches, but first set I had, I returned because one of the small ones broke on first use.

This was a PERFECT set to assemble my AR15 Rifle. I liked the fact they are solid punches and I Really liked that they have a very skinny handle which helps for tight spots. When installing the bolt catch release lever you tap in roll pin basically sideways and almost flush with the lower receivers frame and other punches with large handle brings you punching motion in at an angle .... these have a slim handle to you are perfectly horizontal with the roll pin as you tap it in which makes for an effortless punch of that specific pin (and thats the one that really is the pain and these made that easy). They are a little pricey but great punches for the need I had really.

Poorly made tools. Both the 1/16 and 3/32 punches bent under very light use. They were only used to install roll pins and only struck with a plastic faced hammer.

I can’t say how long these will last, my gunsmith needs are minimal for my personal firearms. I am not a gunsmith but I do work on my personal firearms. I like the brand have other products that are well made that is why I chose these. They are pricey but you want to buy the best you can.

These are by far the best roll punches I have ever seen/ used and let me just tell you they're tough as Nails I will never purchase any other brand again if I EVER wear these out!

Over all I like the punch set. The punches are solid and did not bend or break while in use. I did however notice that while installing the bolt release roll pin on my AR 15 build; the punch barely gave me and inch or so of room to strike on too drive in the pin. It will work. You just have to be very carefull.

All pieces have a slight bend in them, otherwise good quality
