Very impressed
These secateurs are not actually correctly labelled. The headline says Model 7 Classic but they are actually Model 7 Professional, which is what is described and what I wanted. It is hard to choose which model you want, so before shelling out the not inconsiderable sum for these beasts I suggest you visit the Felco World web site which details the 20 models available (including for left-handers), then purchase here, where it is cheaper. It does not provide side by side comparisons, so you have to wade through a bit, but there is lots of information there. The web site also lets you order parts and has good drawings. So if you lose the maintenance and parts list which is on the inside fold of the backing card of your secateurs, you can get it there. There are also how-to videos. They are clearly very well made and the parts availability and dismantling-capability are big pluses for me to justify the price. It is worth a word about the “rolling action” of the lower handle which this model has (and some others such as the Compact Deluxe). A number of secateurs have this now and I read some reviews where people really hate it. I can see why as the effect is odd. What happens is that as you squeeze the outer handle rolls up your fingers. This has the effect of moving the pressure point so is a big advantage if you are doing a lot of cutting and your hands get tired. My wife has arthritis and so I thought this would suit her, but she also very often rejects new things so I was not sure; to her own surprise she said that within a few minutes she’d simply forgotten about this feature, just taking it for granted. However she did find she dropped them a few times, but thinks that will stop once she has got more used to them. Of course you don’t have to have this feature, which is on two models only at present (look for the thicker lower handle. Performance: well they cut like a dream – as would cheap ones brand new. But they do seem a cut above (sorry!) any of the many other supposedly quality brands I’ve owned over the years.

Quality counts
I had been holding off spending the money on a pair of Felco's, arguing to myself that I could by many pairs of OK secateurs for the outlay on one pair of these. However nearly 10 pairs of secateurs down the line I have bitten the bullet and made the purchase. Having used many styles of secateurs I have found the rotation of the handle is good as is the return from the spring, personally I would like it slightly stronger but others might find that this increased hand fatigue. I have sharpened the blade several times now having cut my way through a stack of bamboo canes without any issues. Good solid construction and a feel of quality are what I was expecting and received. All I would say is that these are well worth the extra spend. As for longevity, well every part is replaceable. Therefore this should be, assuming they don't walk, the last pair of secateurs I need purchase, in a complete package anyway.

Truly Ingenious!
My first impression was of a very well-made and durable precision instrument. So far in that has been borne out in use. What is clever is the rotating handle. With your thumb on the small handle and your four fingers on the large one, with normal secateurs as you close them your fingers will slide round the handle - do that for long enough and you'll get blisters and segs. With these the loose plastic handle for your fingers rotates around its metal shaft so there's no rubbing and thus no skin friction. Yes they're a little expensive but I think they will last a very long time. I bought the leather holster and the diamond sharpener too - in for a penny, in for a pound! Incidentally, I found these secateurs on the FredShed website which is where I now go first for ANY Amazon purchase, i.e. the search box at the bottom of the homepage.

Excellent secateurs and worth the extra money.
I am so very pleased with this purchase. In the past, I have bought what I call the usual makes of secateurs available from garden centres etc. The Felco secateurs are so much better - superior in just about every way. I ended up with tennis elbow from using my old ones for an extended period. This is why I decided to buy the professional model with the handle that moves as you close your grip. So much easier to use and a very sharp cut from the high quality blade. I shall probably invest in a sharpener at some stage but at present, all I can say is that I wouldn't change these for anything! Great product.

Recommended for arthritic hands - but first break them open!
These are unusual in use - and certainly helpful. It's just a question of getting used to them. They were highly recommended by a garden mobility aids specialist reviewer - fairly pricy but a small price to pay for less achy hands or secateurs that trigger, er, trigger thumb etc Nice and sharp too- I bought a cheaper version of the allied recommended sharpener and that's worked like a charm on other garden devices and household scissors and kitchen knives. Too soon to tell whether I really like these secateurs but they are far more comfortable, once you get them open ( I had to Google how to open them, how embarrassing) and cut really well too.

Quality Secateurs.
I wanted a quality pair of secateurs.Felco are one of the best. The model 7 has a rotating handle to save on wrist strain, which is a god -send as i work as a professional gardener constantly pruning etc.I too had a problem with the spring pinging out, lucky i managed to find it,i`ll have too purchase some more springs. They cut brilliantly, very sharp and without crushing the the end of a branch etc.I find that sometimes, frustratingly green material, sappy plants get stuck in the secateurs and you have to force them open.a niggly little problem. I bought these of amazon for £52,my local garden centre had them on sale at £109,a big difference. I recommend these very highly indeed and you can buy spare parts from amazon as well as felco, Just beware of that spring flying out.

Worth the money.
These are superb secateurs and are of high build quality. All the main components are replaceable should the need arise. In use the ergonomics of the design become apparent in that long periods of pruning and cutting up garden prunings (to reduce bulk) is far less fatiguing than with other secateurs. After work, clean the blade and the anvil with a damp cloth moistened with water. this will removes all the sap and gunge. The give the secateurs a light spray with WD 40. which will keep then clean and rust free.

Best hand pruner I've ever used!
I've been through what seems like dozens of different brands and types of hand pruners in the last 50 years and I decided it was time to try the best. What a difference this Felco pruner is compared with any of the others in terms of quality of workmanship and ease and comfort of use. There is no comparison. This Felco, made in Sweden, is by far the sharpest, most well designed, most easy to use of any pruner out there. Not only that, replacement parts are available for just about any thing that might ever need replacing at some time in the future. Try finding a replaceable blade or spring for your run of the mill pruners from a hardware or lumber store! The rotating handle is something I have never experienced before and I wasn't so sure that was something that would be needed. But after using this Felco F-7 with the rotating handle, I'm convinced it's the way to go. No stress or strain on your hand, what could be better than that? All in all, I would definitely recommend this pruner. It's the one I would buy again.

Absolut empfehlenswert .
