Does the job for water adsorption, would recommend activating before use
Ran a quick test: poured tap water over a quarter cup of sieve. It quickly evolved heat and even a little steam. Probably not lab grade, but it'll function quite nicely as a desiccant. Activating before use is still recommended. Out of the package, some ,modest amount of moisture was released into a closed vessel upon heating.
