A word of caution . PORT 23 open
This camera is For IT experts only ....This camera has SV3C internals and is proabably bulk ordered old models ,Hacking check , the camera has an pen port 23 , as long as your firewall does not let this port through (and lets face it you would be stupid to expose that purposefully (protocol TelNet)) this camera should be safeUsual ports open 80 (web broswer internal) 554 RTSP. real time streaming protocol. And 8000 backup web browsing , somfar this port appears to be dormant no outbound or inbound connectionsWorryingly the telnet port 23 appears to be protected by passwords that are different from those on the box .. so who has these gives me concern. As long as its blocked at router it should be fine. But only 3 stars because of thisNice clear manual for once and lots of connectons options in box splitters and power supply

I bought this camera over a week ago and after initial attempts of instaiilng the software and not getting anything stable i have initially filed return as got really frustrated with the fact that the only semi decent way to get it to record anything was through firefox. That is as long as you leave it open and logged in....I then started to look at alternatives and other options as actually the picture isn't bad.Decided to install ispy software which is free in base version, this is what I think will save a good piece of equipment for the money badly let down by shabby software.....

Good Day and Night Visuals.
Fitted a few weeks ago and pleased with the result - good visuals day and night. You do need to bore a good size hole to thread the cables but I mounted on wood so not a big deal - I wouldn't want to wire it through stone/brick. I mounted high up on my garage (barn) doors; for me it's primarily a deterrent so I was pleased to find that it glows noticeably red at night. I downloaded some free software and after tweaking got it recording two minutes whenever it's triggered by motion. It ticked all my boxes.

Not bad for the price
for the price (£29.99 when I bought it) it's really not that bad. I was expecting worse but actually the camera is built quite well and setting it up wasn't too complicated. What's good:- metal casing, camera feels solid- good daylight recording quality- decent night vision- ONVIF compatible, easy to record from Linux using openRTSP- great priceWhat's crappy:- POE/network connection is not really well prepared for outdoors - I had to put the connectors inside inside an outdoors junction box to prevent water ingress- needs dodgy internet explorer plugin to view video on the browser

These are ok. But I guess I can not moan too much as they are cheap. The frame rate seems to be a bit slow but apart from. That I can still just bout read number plates in daylight @ 15m

Good for the price
Works well for the most part, and certainly does the job. Shows some interference in the signal and the odd line which obscure the text overlays on the feed (even when connected over a short cable run, so I'm fairly certain it's the camera). Software is fairly awful to configure, but if you're using your own system and just need the signal over RTSP then all is fine.

Good Outdoor camera
Sometimes loses connection when using RSTP stream on a 1Gb network but other than that - excellent.
