Irish Tweed Cap, Gaeltacht Gray

This is my second Carnaween Flat Cap purchased on amazon. I liked the first in a green checked pattern so much that I wanted another in a different color. All that was available was this gray version and with one left in my size I purchased it. The hat in reality is far more beautiful than the photos displayed . This isn’t a drab gray . The gray tweed fabric appears a bit flannel like and is composed of various shades of grays that when looked at in good lighting appear as a somewhat blueish-purplish gray. The style is the traditional Irish variety, a bit wider and Jess streamlined than most flat caps. The construction and craftsmanship are superior in quality. The hat is well structured, more than others giving it the prominent high peak in the back and slightly upward curved “duck” bill in the front. The cap fits snuggly as these caps should as they are made to slightly stretch out and individually conform to your head. This cap produced in a small Cottage Industry type shop in Ireland is worth every penny it cost.
