Disclosure - I did not buy this unit from Amazon because they quoted an extended shipping delay, I got it from another vendor for the same price & free shipping, the exact same make, model. Back in the days of "vintage" stereo I repaired tape decks, 8-tracks, reel-reel and turntables for over five years. I know a decent tape machine when I use one. Frankly I'm amazed they still make one this good. The CD & cassette work perfectly. Yes, the tape does have auto-off in play and FF/REW modes. There is no auto reverse during play which frankly you do not want unless you want to have it quit. Saw it way too many times. The ability tio play/record to from a USB is V-nice. Its a solid machine and has all the features any home entertainment user could want. Mic inputs, fader controls, tape speed pitch, etc. Comes with analog RCA cables & a remote. Recommended. We will see if Amazon lets me post this as I did not buy directly from them, but I did try.

I bought it to computerise inputs from radio, cd’s and, most importantly, cassettes. It’s great for these functions. Can’t use it to capture sound from my tv as the tv only has an optical sound output, but pleased with my Teac nonetheless.

I bought this knowing the brand from childhood. Very disappointing after. Half of the switches are not working on the remote. The CD player has a lot of issues with static in the output no matter what I do and a lot of the parts of the display have suddenly stopped working 😳I guess they don’t have the quality I remember I used to order them over sony and even tascam but I guess that was a lot of years back

Disappointed. Bought this legendary brand Teac few months ago but didn’t get a chance to try the cassette player until recently found that it didn’t have auto stop function after it played the tape to the end. It kept running and pulled, broke my two cassette tapes. Now it passed the return date and I can’t return it. Stopped playing it. The CD player works fine though. SAD

Works fine thus far. Bought especially for the usb option. Also have been able to play cds and cassettes I have.
