When Did Winger Get So Heavy?
I'll admit, I'm a huge fan of 80's Hard Rock / Heavy Metal. I always enjoyed Winger's debut, I mean, Madalaine, Seventeen, Hungry, Headed for a Heartbreak, there are a lot of good songs on that album. But, I'll admit, while I have their follow up, In The Heart of the Young, I don't really remember listening to that very much. Then, I kind of lost track of Winger. So, color me surprised when I saw they were releasing their 7th studio album, Seven. I heard the song Tears Of Blood, and honestly, was blown away. So, I decided to pre-order the album. And what can I say, I am not disappointed. This is an AMAZING album. 12 songs, and it just rocks. I don't do the song by song review, other people do that, and they do it much better than I do. I just tell people what I think or feel. I've listened to this all album all the way through multiple times now, over a few days since it came out. I've actually gotten a number of CD's in the mail the last few days, so there has been a lot to listen to, but I keep coming back to Seven. It's hard to really describe how great this is, but even the slower songs rock, the pacing of the album is great, and when the last song plays (It All Comes Back Around), you just want to let the album keep playing on repeat. Buy this, you won't be disappointed. I honestly can't say enough good things about this album. This is what Hard Rock has always been about, music that makes you feel good, puts you in a happy mood, makes you want to move with the music. Kip Winger and crew have created a masterpiece with Seven, and honestly, I hope it doesn't take them 9 years to follow this up with Eight, like it did to release Seven after the 2014 release of Better Days Comin'. I for one, am hoping there will be more great, new music coming from Winger in the future after hearing what they're capable of with Seven. But until something new comes out, Seven will definitely keep me happy!

You could make a solid argument this is Wingers best album
I've been a Winger fan since when they first came out. Im a big fan of Heart of the Young and Pull. I think this album is better than those two-and Pull is pretty high up in my opinion. I don't think this album is anything different than what you would expect from Winger. This album is solid all the way through. That isn't to say there isn't a slight misstep or two (some of the guitar solos aren't smooth in transition) but from beginning to end this album keeps going without really letting up or getting weak in spots. It has a good sound, the songs rock, and I'm really glad these guys are still making music, because I'd be actually ticked if this album never came into existance-if you like Winger this is an album you MUST have!

Another solid effort by one of my all time favorite bands
I've been a Winger fan since the first time the video for Madalaine played on MTV(remember when they actually played music?) I always look forward to a new album by Winger and after a few listens this one has grown on me fairly well. Seven is also the first album to include all members of Winger especially the returning Paul Taylor who adds nice keyboard touches and actually does a guitar on one song. Kip's voice is in excellent shape and Reb Beach (who is one of my top 5 favorite guitarists) continues to shine and impress with his fierce playing. My favorite songs so far are Proud Desperado, Heavens Falling, Stick the Knife and the last track It All Comes Back Around (which has a Headed For a Heartbreak vibe). This album seems to combine alot of elements from the debut to Pull and Karma. My one complaint is that I wish they had more uptempo/faster songs like the ones on Karma, a good chunk of the album is more mid to slower tempo, the running of order of songs should be changed to keep the pace better especially if you're listening in the car. I hope they tour around my area in Florida, I've seen them several times and they always put on a killer show!

Surprise album of the year... so far
Originals Kip, Reb, Paul, Rod (plus guitarist John Roth) are all here... 35 years after the band's stellar '88 debut. Great songs - due to the great chemistry that still exists between bandmates. While '7' might not reach the heights of that magical debut, this is still a really good album filled with some wonderful songs. For me, the album gets better as it progresses, with the last track, "It All Comes Back Around" being my favorite. I actually rate this disc higher than mid era Winger - Karma, IV and Better Days Comin'.Liner notes include song lyrics and credits. "7" should make my Top 10 for 2023.

Del Vecchio should learn from this
Winger has been a great band all over the years, it combines rock, glam, pop, progressive rock and also some classical music in betweenand with an imponent technical composition on all their albums. Kip is a real musician and he has always proved it. This album is a real gem, close to IV and Karma, great hard rock with a touch of instrumentation and the finest whom songwriter can do. Winger is a solid band and this album is pure genius. Go and get it, for sure this will cost 100 dollars in 10 years. I will buy several physical copies. Go on Mr C.F., please delight us with more of your magic and talent. Really tired of all Del Vecchio songs, try this instead. This is real music.

Another Album that shows off Muscianship
This album rocks! Winger is a talented group! They know how to display their natural born skill by the songs they write. Love the guitar licks! I look forward to their next album!
